    Hello all.

Hi Andy (I recognise you!! ) Click on the FNZAS icon top left to go to our home page. There you will see Clubs and it lists all the details for you. Or wait for one of the Hamilton members here to tell you
  2. To move a gravid female it is best not to lift her out of the water s this causes even more stress. Catch her in a container and move her that way rather than lift her out using a net. She could still be dropping fry. If she does not apprea to be stressed in the breeding net then I would leave her there a few days.
  3. You've got too many variables there for us to help much :-? You will have to log into your wireless unit. What model do you have? Although nothing should have changed if you'd just moved stuff then plugged it back in so what else did you do?
  4. They are going to put it on that well known auction site as is where is. Someone might want the glass from the other sides. Tim will build them another tank. He thinks the tank should have had more bracing to start with. They will also take the opportunity to get an electrician in to add more powerpoints as they have cords running all over the place to reach the tank.
  5. It isn't dropsy or dorspy  but still doesn't sound good. Could be some internal parasite making its way out of the body or an ulcer about to burst.
  6. There isn't much difference between repair and replace. He is taking the tank over today so will decide after discussion with Tim.
  7. Thanks for that. My son has emailed him.
  8. Sprinkle yourself with salt first
  9. I thought it was always humid in Auckland?
  10. Anyone know a good place in ChCh to get a tank repaired? Son's 3ft just cracked up the centre back panel so needs to replace it. They have spent their day hurredly throwing fish into a spare tank and drying out carpets etc. Does Tim do repairs? (Inside Oceans)
  11. Is it similar over most of Auckland? Were the fish in the same pH in the shop? If so, why alter it? 7.6 isn't too bad.
  12. Tell her it would be a good pet for the baby
  13. Depends on what she is wearing A lot cooler here today thanks to a ESE wind blowing at 15.8kph (Grant got himself a weather station for Christmas). The other day I found 35C a bit hot  A pleasant 21 here today. Just nice. Only 39% humidity too.
  14. Good productive meeting last night - finalised a lot of plans for conference. You are in for a great time if you attend this event. Some very interesting stops in the bus tour and good food. Sorry you didn't make it Mrs Frog Keep an eye out for details (next month) about the next FNZAS conference. We will have registration forms you can download from this site. 16. No idea but I would be interested in the answer if you find out.

    Pond Filter

Our pump is in the pond but the filter is outside... It is in the tall wooden structure behind the waterfall. It is a proper bought filter, not homemade. Water sprays in through holes in the pipe, like a spraybar, then trickles through foam and other media before returning to the pond over the waterfall. We had to drill bigger holes in the underwater end as it kept clogging too quickly. Raising it several inches off the bottom helped too
