  1. For those not understanding Ira's remark - he doesn't like the "fancy" goldfish varieties. Many of these were developed from "deformed" fish and made into a type of their own, enhancing the "deformity" eg goggle eyes, lack of some fins etc and many have inherent health problems (similar to those in many breeds of cats and dogs these days) Those of you witnessing people buying diseased fish - have you ever quietly gone up to the person involved and politely said "Excuse me but did you realise that fish is ill?" By standing by and saying nothing you are perpetuating the problem.
  2. Everyone knows what I look like so here is a family shot Back row is husband Grant, daughter Kelly and me. My parents are sitting in the middle and son Gareth is on the floor. Photo taken for my parent's 50th anniversary 2004.
  3. Personally I would forget turtles and go for lizards. The pics people have been showing us of their dragons have been great.
  4. I always found plenty to harvest from the sides using a fine paint brush.
  5. OK, been having a look in the Help section of Adobe. Will have a play and see what I can work out. Not too good following their instructions as I don't know the terminology and never seen anyone using the programme. My images are JPEG and need to be GIF or PNG to work better by the looks of it so I will convert one and see. Looks like I need to create a transparency in a background layer so will read up on creating layers  I am a lot better being shown something than reading the instructions :-? Anyone willing to do it for me if I send the images? It is for my parents' church fundraiser so a good cause
  6. My 3 year old did that while in line at the Post Office. She looked at the man behind and said, in a loud voice, "Oooh that man's naughty, he's been drawing all over his arms!" Turned around to see a big, mean looking, biker - who just grinned at her.
  7. I have some graphics with a white background I need to be clear as they are to be printed on coloured paper and I don't want the square white shape around them. How do I make the background see-through? Is there a quick and easy way? I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 and Microsoft Digital Image Pro 7.0, and I think one or both will have something in them to do what I want. I have tried the remove background tool in Adobe but haven't figured out how to make it look good  I tend to be able to remove the bit I want to keep and not the background

Brilliant wasn't it? I would love to visit Galapagos Is.
  9. Poor fish is dead - or is it an upsidedown catfish? I had to read the title twice!!
  10. Do you wear much bling?
  11. Livebearers are usually good. What age are the kids?
  12. I am sure it could over the long term. We had a tank sitting on one of our 3ft speakers. If they were turned up loudly, the fish might jump at the first bass note then ignore it.
  13. my total pics: 16,815 8) Album size: 1.2Gb of 5Gb monthly bandwidth: 383Mb Any ad is obtrusive to me :-?
  14. So how are you going to keep them "pure" when they will interbreed?
  15. Try giving them their own territory and see if that eases the aggression. Ihave several males of varying sizes together with no problems but it is heavily planted so plenty of hiding places. Have you got plain BNs with golden ones?
  16. kris_b is often named but not actually there. I am there pretty much every night from 7.30 for half an hour or so. If someone wants to suggest a specific time that's later then do so. I go in at that time cos I talk to Jude and she is early to bed.
  17. No Zev, you get no pop ups or ads or anything. You also get unlimited number of pics you can add and lots of other stuff but the lack of pop ups and stuff makes it worthwhile. US$25 a year I think.
  18. Bear in mind goldfish bred in Asia are in outdoor ponds in temps in the high 20's - low 30's.
  19. When I tried to change my triffid pics to the direct link bit the pics disappeared and just had the link to photobucket. :-?
  20. Good news! Just got another email from them... If you recently received an email from Photobucket titled “You are incorrectly linking from Photobucket†please ignore this message. This email was sent to you in error. We apologize for this inconvenience. Rest assured that all of the links to your images and videos continue to work. Keeping your media safe and secure, and providing reliable hosting of your photos, images and videos is our primary concern. We thank you for your patience in this matter and your continued support. :bounce:  8) :-?
  21. Hmm, if I change to the Direct Link, the pic does not appear, just the link to the pic :-? Are they saying we can't show our pics elsewhere?
  22. I have been using Photobucket for several years now. I actually pay for the fancy version and am very pleased with it. Today I got an email from them saying the following... It has been brought to our attention that you are incorrectly linking content from your Photobucket account around the Web. We would kindly request that you please begin making the appropriate changes to your links as quickly as possible as to avoid any future disruptions to your service. You are incorrectly linking to the Photobucket servers instead of the 'i' for some (or all) of your links off-site. You will need to go in and manually change all of your links to reflect the 'i' instead of the Photobucket servers. Please see the examples below. Incorrectly linked files look like this: http://photobucket.com/albums/aa123/use ... lename.jpg An example of a correctly linked file should look like this (notice the 'i'): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/aa123 ... lename.jpg Note: You should copy the Direct Link code from your Photobucket album in order to resolve the issue. On March 24th, 2008 at 12pm ET, Photobucket will begin disabling all incorrect links. Please begin correcting your links as quickly as possible as to avoid any disruptions to your service. Even if your links are disabled after the March 24th deadline, as soon as you fix them, your files will display as intended again. Please feel free to contact us at [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns. Your promptness and assistance with this matter is greatly appreciated! Now, I went to look to see if I could figure out what they were on about, and it was immediately obvious, but my question is... has anyone else received a similar letter? I have always, and have seen others told to, clicked on the last of the 4 codes available under a thumbnail - Email & IM, Direct Link, HTML Code and IMG Code. I was told to click on IMG Code. Which one do the rest of you click on when posting pics in forums? Since I have so many pics posted, I doubt I will be manually correcting them all so be prepared for a lot of red X's where my pics used to be
