  1. I am sitting here trying to format the Year Book (difficult when some club information is still outstanding  ) and have a venison casserole cooking in the slow cooker. The smell is delicious and has wafted right through the house!
  2. That was my problem too Phantom. Plus, arthritis in the fingers means they don't work as fast as my brain so I often get letters reversed like ew instead of we. Er instead of Re is another one I do often because my left hand is worse than my right
  3. Totally Tanked will have a stall there so look out for them!
  4. I do hope you mean a fish there Simian
  5. I often refer to Curt's Plantgeek site www.plantgeek.net
  6. Net Speed: 39 WPM (words/minute) Accuracy: 95% Gross Speed: 41 WPM (words/minute) Not bad for only using 2 fingers on each hand. I can type faster when I am doing my own words, not copying what is on a screen. I wish I had taken the commercial course at school as I would have learned touch typing (which both my kids can do at great speed!) instead of the professional course. I am finding typing more useful than French! In my day (before computers were invented) you couldn't choose individual subjects, you chose a block "course" of subjects. At least I was able to pass individual School Certificate (ye olde NCEA) subjects. In Grant's day (even older than mine) you didn't get School Cert unless you passed all 5 subjects. Math, English and Geography were compulsory too!
  7. Plants are just a higher form of algae (or are algae a lower form of plants?). I think some of the types of algae look really nice, if kept under control and not smothering everything.

    Hello :)

    Welcome to the fishroom
  9. Have you actually explained fully to the new people that you have such a violent allergy? Keep sneezing and coughing on them and they should get the message.
  10. You mean cabomba or ambulia? The two look very similar so either one would give you that bushy look. It is a plant I have never had luck with. Probably due to lack of light in my tank
  11. Hi and welcome Beau.
  12. Best to have lots more females than males. Most male livebearers will chase anything that moves - male or female
  13. Welcome to the fishroom. I too am a fan of bristlenoses 8)
  14. I don't know if all Binn Inn's have a grinder. I have halved the sugar in most of the recipes I use and try to use sweetner instead if something is required. American recipes (my son loves recipe bazaar) always have waaaay too much sugar in them! Anyway, back on topic... I haven't actually tried the new Cadbury as I objected to the new packs being smaller but the price didn't drop  Considering they said it was much cheaper to produce, using palm oil, we ought to see a reduction in price!
  15. I am aware two of those mentioned are colour variations of the same barb but would still prefer to see more of one colour. I like golden barbs as they are bigger, very colourful, and always on the move.
  16. It is my desk top icon that is refusing to work. I will replace it with one that does I got in by going through the url then logging in.
  17. I have just returned from the Binn Inn where I ran some peanuts through their machine to make peanut butter. I do this because Grant says the supermarket brand peanut butters have no taste these days. The Binn Inn lady claimed that was because they now use palm oil (up to 40%) cos of cost. I have no idea how the price of the stuff I crunched through the grinder compares with the supermarket stuff but don't care. Tinned fruit has no taste now either since it all comes from South Africa or somewhere but I don't think we can blame palm oil for that! :-?
  18. Here it is... Finally sneaked into Photobucket a different way. Must have got a corrupted file last night when we had power problems due to weather. The UPSs were beeping and burping and lights dimmed several times
  19. Looks like it I will try to enter it another way while they aren't looking
  20. Is anyone else having trouble accessing their Photobucket account? I keep getting a message telling me "We are doing a little work right now. Your image wil be back soon, Photobucket". I started trying yesterday and still getting the same message this morning
  21. Photobucket is still denying acess while they work on their site - again   This seems to happen quite a bit lately. I will check again in the morning Lisa and hopefully get that pic up for you.
  22. Grant tells me the micro bit originally came from microprocessor. He is a geek (and a nerd) so is probably right  They have reduced what they bring to display in the South Island because of transport costs, so one of the dealers told Grant. We used to find it annoying that they would display all the big ticket items, suitable for big business, when our customer base is small business and home users. There was a lot less on display this year too.
  23. I have sent you a PM with my email Lisa so you can send me the pic and I will put it up here for you.

    Coral shots

Gorgeous suphew (the pics I mean ) Love the last two especially.
  25. If I had a 300L ank I would not put 6 tiger barbs, 6 green barbs etc I would put a whole heap of the one species! These fish look brilliant when in a large group, instead of a few of each. They really show their colours and schooling behaviour then.
