  1. That's high! Where does he live? Is this council water or a well?
  2. It is important you got her name and contact details plus her licence plate and the name of her insurance company. You contact them immediately and fill out the forms giving your side of the story. They compare it with hers ( she will probably be blaming you by the time it comes to fill our her forms) and they decide based on evidence who is at fault. They may ask you to get 3 quotes from reputable local companies or you can ask them if you may get a quote from the company you prefer. Have you been checked out by a medical person and filled out an ACC form? Although you may think there is little wrong, the ACC45 form is important if you develop problems later on and require medical care (this can happen with whiplash and other bruising which may take a day or 2 to develop). It will be cheaper for you to see the Dr if you fill out the ACC45 form (says she from where she works a Dr's office ).
  3. They knew school started this week for many
  4. Nothing but people don't use it much
  5. Looks like black beard algae to me too
  6. Yeah, it's all Stella's fault!
  7. and make sure you are aware of ongoing costs
  8. Why was it recommended? In my opinion, if you are doing everything correctly you should not need to add products to your system. I had to look this stuff up as I had never heard of it. It seems to be considered the best thing since sliced bread (but it was their own website so that is understandable) and I don't think I have ever seen 1 product claimed to cure, or correct, so many different problems and for both freshwater and marine! Nowhere could I find what was actually in it though :dunno: Their site says... Easy-Life fluid filter medium represents a completely new product generation in aquatics. Its application range is so wide, that a certain name never fully covers all the workings of this product. Easy-Life vfm : is 100% natural & safe does not contain any chemicals, bacteria or other organic additives is very active in freshwater and marine aquariums, ponds and paludariums solves many problems : often occurring ones and also rare problems is a very versatile preventive product brings about dozens of powerful effects Examples of Easy-Life ffm activities in freshwater and marine systems : improves and stabilizes the water quality, accelerates the maturing of tanks, removes chemicals, medicine residue, chlorine, heavy metals, ammonium and many other contaminants, improves plant growth, young fry grow better, promotes coral growth, algae removal and prevention, destresses fish and lower animals, neutralizes harmful bacteria, promotes breeding and much more. Easy-Life ffm prevents unnecessary suffering and dying of freshwater and marine animals during transport and quarantine, after a medical treatment, in case of injuries and bacterial infections, calamities like power failure and so on. The mortality rate of the water creatures has decreased tremendously by Easy-Life ffm. All this with a completely natural product with which no chemicals, bacteria or other organic additives are brought into the water. Easy-Life fluid filter medium produces over 30 different effects, without showing any detrimental side-effects. Use the navigation on the right for all the information about this unique product. Surprisingly, it claims that doubling the does doubles the effectiveness, unlike most which say you must dose as per instructions. It was product of the year in Germany in 2004. The site also claims all the following... OVERVIEW ACTIVITIES Effrects on aquarium plants adds a wide range of essential minerals and trace elements enhances the growth of plants Water quality / biofilters / useful bacteria makes the water crystal clear removes heavy metals (e.g. Copper, Zinc, Cadmium) removes ammonium, chlorine, chloramine and other harmful compounds (chlorine compounds only in fresh water) removes harmful bacteria absorbs residue of medication and chemicals eliminates bad odours prevents algae problems continually adds oxygen to the water improves the water quality and keeps it stable protects against sudden alterations in the water quality improves the overall water condition spectacularly useful bacteria multiply much faster biofilters become more efficient and longer lasting accelerates the bio-activity: ideal for starting up new filter systems Effects on corals / lower animals / live rock Live rock / corals open much quicker and easier all water inhabitants will grow better the lower animals become more active the animals are less prone to disease adds a wide range of essential minerals and trace elements Water quality / biofilters / useful bacteria makes the water crystal clear removes heavy metals (e.g. Copper, Zinc, Cadmium) removes ammonium, chlorine, chloramine and other harmful compounds (chlorine compounds only in fresh water) removes harmful bacteria absorbs residue of medication and chemicals eliminates bad odours prevents algae problems continually adds oxygen to the water improves the water quality and keeps it stable protects against sudden alterations in the water quality improves the overall water condition spectacularly useful bacteria multiply much faster biofilters become more efficient and longer lasting accelerates the bio-activity: ideal for starting up new filter systems It seems to me that it is not removing anything from the water, just binding it so it is still there. I do not think such products should replace good, regular maintenance and, if you are doing this, then the product is superfluous (and expensive).
  9. We won't mention her age Hope you have a lovely day and the family waits on you hand and foot

Grant really should stop doing computer work for Makana Chocolates. They always give him a goodie bag. This time it was this
  18. From the Air NZ website... Restricted Items: Carriage of Liquids, Aerosols, Pastes and Gels: Passengers departing New Zealand on international flights must comply with security regulations relating to the carriage of liquids, gels and aerosols in the aircraft cabin. The measures are: All liquids, pastes, aerosols or gels such as drinks, creams, perfumes, sprays, gels, toothpaste, lip gloss and mascaras must be in individual containers not greater than 100ml in volume All containers must be carried in a re-sealable transparent plastic bag no larger than one litre (approximately 20cm x 20cm or 8 inches x 8 inches) Only one bag is permitted per passenger The plastic bag must be sealed and presented separately from all other carry-on baggage at the screening point Liquids in containers of more than 100mls can be packed in your checked in baggage. There are exemptions for personal medications, baby products and dietary supplements in liquid, paste, aerosol or gel form. The containers used must be brought to the airport contained in a single, transparent, re-sealable plastic bag, which itself must not exceed 1 litre in capacity (approximately 20cms x 20cms). The contents of the plastic bag must fit comfortably and the bag sealed. Each passenger may carry only one such bag of liquids. The bag must be presented for examination at the airport security points. Liquids, pastes, aerosols and gels that can not be placed inside the re-sealable bag must be packed into the hold luggage and checked in. Be aware that if travelling to the USA you may be subjected to additional secondary security screening before boarding the aircraft. Remember that 'Liquids' includes: All drinks, including water, beer, wine, spirits, soup, syrups Pastes, including toothpastes Creams, lotions, oils, perfumes, mascara etc Gels, including hair and shower gel Sprays and pressurized containers including shaving Foam and spray deodorants Any other solutions and items of similar consistency
  19. Aerosols can be a problem but my deodorant was roll on. The toothpaste was fine even though it looks like it is made of similar stuff. People pack hairspray I think so aerosol deodorant ought to be OK. Check online at an international flight carrier's web site as they list the do's and don'ts of international travel.
  20. I had a small plastic tube of antiseptic powder in my toilet bag in the suitcase. It exploded during the flight. I did not know this until we reached the hotel and I opened my case. Everything was coated in a fine white powder! I was very pleased they had not picked me for a random search through customs  The plastic appeared to be very brittle and had shattered, although it felt smooth and bendy to touch when I put it in the bag (and it was brand new so not an old tube).

Do they still do that??? Grant and I are teetotallers and he used to get hassled a lot for "not being a man" because he hated the taste of alcohol  It isn't so bad if you are female but, good grief, I thought times had changed even if binge drinking has taken over youth culture these days  I still remember one year a long time ago when one of our regular couriers dropped off parcels and, in the course of the conversation (it was Christmas) we mentioned neither of us drank alcohol. He looked absolutely flabbergasted then said "But how do you celebrate???" We pointed out we managed just fine, enjoyed ourselves, remembered what we did, had no embarrassment or consequences the next day nor any hangovers 8) I had lunch with friends today. I enjoyed my pumpkin soup

Good to see there are a few intelligent teens out there (or pre teens) who realise smoking is stupid. Perhaps I ought to take the smokers to visit our patients who have emphysema as a result of years of smoking. It is a very slow, undignified, and painful way to die

Been to Nelson and got a lovely new drug list for Grant to see if they can get his rheumatoid arthritis under control again  Went to Quiz Night and lost by half a point. Doesn't matter though as The Microbes (our arch enemies  ) came about 4th or something. We don't care who wins, as long as it isn't them. We would have won if we had listened to Grant who said My Boy Lollipop was sung by Milly Small and not Little Eva, or if I had remembered Baked Beans was sung by Mother Goose (I put Hello Sailor :-? ) But.... we won the jackpot of $120 so that was good. Plus we got $30 on the bar tab for 2nd place. :happy1: :happy2:
  24. Don't make eye contact with anyone selling anything unless you actually want to buy something! They are relentless!! And, if I remember correctly, it was under the Sim Lim Tower (or the Square over the road) there is a food court with an excellent selection
  25. Remove as much of the cyano as you can, either by hand, vacuum or whatever. Blackout the tank for 3 or 4 days. Do not feed the fish during this time. If it is just at the top of the moss then remove the moss.
