they are 99% fine with other ones..... i have 5 lots of babies with mine and they are fine, its only if you get 2 males that fight to be top dog, best thing to do is to have more females than males when it comes to breeding

i use one at work and at home, they are great!!!! with the one at home i put it on my outside tap, it works great! i have hurd of people putting it on there laundry sink tap.

i knew someone that put white xmas lights round the top of his tank .... he said it was to act like fire flys .... alot of the stuff that is sold today are just toys you can put what you like on your tanks but half of it is not needed

thats sad to hear have you tested the water? when i breed fish i try not to have all the babies in one tank that way if something does go wrong i dont lose them all.

it all depends on what fish you have , some are not that great with a double dose but most are fine , if you put it in have stuff ready to do a water change with by the tank, i always do that when im trying something new. you will see within the first few mins if the fish arent happy. i havent had a problem with it yet .... touch wood

that great they have breed once they will do it again , say one week maybe two. the eggs look great!!! if they go white they are dead so all of yours look good enjoy you will find its hard to do but after a few time most people get it right!!

ok why they breed there was because of the flow inn your tank so you might have to move your tank around so next time they breed in a cave, but alot of catfish will breed on wood so dont stres and trust me no fish will get near those babies if he is a good dad, you could put a rock in front of them but then you miss you on seeing them hatch.... when they hatch he will move them so they are safe . its great news !!!!!!!

that will be it thats about the price they are , did you get told they grow big about 8 -12inch it does take time but they do grow big , they are good cleaners

thats ok alan_au alot of people dont no what the discus cones are , its from jbl and its a light brown colour , it looks like an ice cream cone but bigger but the great thing is you can clean them and also i have found them great to breed with as they arent sharp inside , i use to use the easter island orderments but they can have sharp bits on them so i changed to the cones. get in touch with your lfs and see if they buy off kongs and if they do they are the wholesalers to get them from, if they are a jbl store like me they will get a bigger discount and should pass it onto you. Kong's is in Australia , NZ and now England

if you want you can bring it to me i can fix it for free , i have keeped turtles all my life and breed 1000's of them and also had lots of people bring the sick turtles to me!! im working tomorrow 9-4 so bring her /him in if you want and i will see what needs to be done its alot cheeper than a vet and most vets dont no what to do with turtles as they dont learn that at vet school. or just phone me wk 4806846 im at work all next week as well

also how long has the tank been set up for? over feeding can cause that slime you are talking about. salt is fine , you could give your oranda a salt bath say a mixing bowl size to a tsp of salt. and test your water or get it testered have you used fly spray? that can do that as well if you have an air pump.

unless the water is tested by a lab and that can cost $100's of $ i dont think they will never no what happened to them, as i said i have had it happened to my shop tanks before and it cost me lots to get it done the first time and then after that i couldn't face it and had to just cry and say i don't no who has murdered them any way so what is the point in finding out, sometimes you don't want to no as you just want to kill some one for what they have done to your fish, fish like that are for peoples pleasure but they are also our pets and our favorite or hard to get and that's why they are on display and not for sale.

thats the thing with these fish they are slap happy when it comes to breeding, every time just about the eggs have come out of the cave, the eggs arent as sticky as normal b/n eggs, so thats why i am now useing a discus breeding cone and when they sporn i have to put a rock up over 1/2 of it so the eggs dont get blowen round the tank. they are fun to breed but a bit more work then normal b/n
