  1. to get them in you have to get no less than 12 of them in, and that is if you can get them in, the red tape that the importer has to do is alot, so i would say the ones at jensens are your best shot of getting a coloured one, apart from the blacks they come in from time to time (very night)

    leeches

you can salt your tank, and try cure ex (if you can get it) or fluke tabe i have knowen people to use them (not at the same time) and it worked, but they hate salt, or you could put a bait catcher in your tank with a bit of meat in it and the leeches should go on to the meat and you can take them out of your tank without touching them, doing that at night is best.
  3. do what alan told you. they normally spawn after a good water change

    Sick Discus

you can try JBL Aquadur plus , it works well but you will need meds as well. Adds over 70 different salts to soft or osmosis water. The pH level is stabilised by the hydrocarbonate content Prevents and heals the â€hole in the head disease“ caused by mineral deficiencies. Live-bearing fish require higher mineral contents and conductivity, easily attained using AquaDur plus. JBL Aquadur plus is a mineral mixture containing carbonatehardening as well as total hardening constituents. The composition is based on the ion distribution of most tropical waters. JBL AquaDur plus is ideally suited for increasing the corbonate and total hardness levels in all soft water. The puffer capacity is therefore increased, stabilizing the pH values and preventing a harmful drop in acidity. B-group vitamins and other important active substances, essential above all vor the vital micro-organisms in an aquarium, make soft water which has been treated with JBL AquaDur plus the ideal basic water for keeping and breeding all types of aquarium fish.

  12. dont feed them tadpoles!!
  13. as alan said earth worms , i feed mine everything , bloodworm , pellets, live food, mussels, live food....platies, goldfish, fresh water guppys (they are great you can breed them in a pond and feed them out), i only feed feeder fish and get alot of bags because my lung fish and tiger eat lots in one day and then i dont feed them for 4-6days

  16. white spot cure is the best!! if your fish have it really bad dose it day 1 and day 2, if its not to bad dose it day 1 and day 3! turn the temp up but i normally only think 28 as that is warm and does the trick

    Brown Algae

otos are cleaner they are not in the tank to look nice, mind you i think they are cute
  18. if you order a few fish you will be charged the same as if you bring in 1000 fish.
  19. every time maf come out to an importers the importer has to pay his/her time, depending on the maf person you will be charged from when they leave work/home till they get home, so its normally a few hundred $$$ a time (that's from memory) they have to come out 3 times i think before the fish can be sold, also any dead fish had to be recorded and frozen. you must remember things change all the time so it might be cheeper but i dont think so.
  20. get in touch with new zealand discus man from this site , (phill cillis) he is importing and he knows his stuff when it comes to fish!!
