  1. First of all : :spop: Second: what's the thingy on the roof of the green neons? Is it a filter to reduce the light?
  2. :rotf: Did she improve the goldfish's life as a result ?

    just reading Fluffington Post...
  4. You can ring the SPCA and report it, they will still check it out. I did that with a restaurant that had a tank of huge goldfish in the window of their shop that had no filter and was only half full of water. It wasn't on their urgent list but they must have done something as I went past a few days later and there was more water in the tank at least.
  5. I usually put some in a bucket and pour cold tap water over it, stir it up, then pour it off. And I keep doing that till the water is quite clear as it will be quite cloudy. You won't catch all of the cloud but you'll get most of it doing it this way. It's easier to do it in small amounts, less than half a bucket at a time as you'll get the most swirl-ability than if you do a whole bucket at a time.
  6. kitty looks both nuts and interested at the same time :sml2:
  7. so he should be his other fish auctions say the tank is too claustrophobic so overall is probably a good thing he's selling them

a good and sensible looking car  don't forget to paint flames down the side
  9. I got a warning from TM as I had put my contact details in the question. I believe all the questions have been deleted andI know he saw my question but hasn't taken me up on my offer of buying the fish for $10, him keeping the Death Bowl.
  10. we usually have the heater on till sometime in Sept or Oct, so for me it's a good saving
  11. do a search, it's been done on here before at least once in my skant memory
  12. I'm going to ask a question and see if he's willing to sell me the fish by itself without the crap and then I'll bring it home for someone else to buy from me. I have no use for a blackmoor but this auction is just stupid. Alternately if someone from anywhere wants to press buy now and send him $20, I'll pick up the fish and he can board in my spare cold water tank till he can go to another home.
  13. our first full power bill in the new house was $40 cheaper than the last one at the old house. Differences being: extra power spend items here - dishwasher, 2 extra small fish tanks heated power saving items here - hot water cylinder is fully and properly insulated, and working, house is full of light and warmer, carpet throughout and it's so much warmer that we don't need a heater on during the day at all, twice this week haven't needed one on at night either. :bounce:
  14. CPD tank where the val is green and behaving relatively normally for that tank, it took 3 drops to turn the test from blue to orange/yellow. In comparison the crypts never did well in here and I moved them all out. In the loach tank where it's browning took 4 drops and the crypts are consistently alright. I wonder if I should give up on val in the loach tank, it's always struggled. Do you think the brown val will perk up if I move it to a better condition or is it likely finished? Funnily enough the leaf structure and the whole thing seems to be intact, not rotting etc, still trying to put out runners. I think I've had cobwebs before, and there also seems to be a sort of white blob on the back wall that looks like underwater mould. It has cleared up in the past, I may just wait it out and see what happens, and do some water swapping. Thanks for the tips.
  15. if you get one of these helmets you will be noticed but noone will know who you are
  16. if you can get 6-8 poly boxes of white worms going, please can I have a blob?
  17. this one? viewtopic.php?f=28&t=58285&hilit=resin is it the one you found and brought back from 2009?
  18. A problem with mopeds and scooters is that people don't generally behave like they are on a motorbike, so you get people wearing inadequate footwear and lack of protective clothing and zipping in and out of drivers' blind spots like they can't get hurt. Anyone who has fallen off anything going at 50km per hour or even slower with bare skin or normal clothing will agree it's not a pretty sight and you can get very messed up. I think if you have to go on 2 wheels then you need proper motorbike gear. If that means you have to buy a bike that looks like a motorbike so you don't look like a wally then so be it. You only have one life... well as far as I know anyway :sage:
