No idea what nutritional value of bugs are, I would have thought they are good live protein, but the variety is good anyway. I think the benefit to the fish getting to eat live food is just as good as what it gets from the deal nutritionally.

+1 At a St John's First Aid course I went to they said 'if in doubt call them out'. So I would. Because you just don't know what it is until they get seen by a doctor. :dunno:

I have some grindal worms burrowing away in some peat and I notice that the peat has grown a bit of white mould around the edges on the surface in the gap between the edge of the glass and the box. It's not mould from left over food or dead worms etc, it's growing on the peat. I noticed that the peat in the bag/bale was starting to get some white patches too. I did take this clump from elsewhere in the bag but obviously the spores have spread. Is it a problem? The worms are happy enough under the glass so far. Maybe I have mushrooms growing?

Aren't they able to charge you if they don't think it was a genuine call out? I'm sure we got charged when we called an ambulance to come and pick up a heavy relative who hurt their back and we couldn't move them. Regardless of what kind of day they are having it's no excuse. Those kind of comments are no attitude to put out to the general public when you are supposed to be seen as being a medical helper you can count on. Yes you could have taken him to A and E but you made a snap decision not to based on the situation, they weren't there to ask the right questions when you made that decision. Make a complaint. Better still, get Ira to write the complaint haha

I also feed aphids to the fish. Also ants, and caterpillars that are mouth-sized, though they will swim around with one that is as big as they are.
