    Worm Parasite

have a search for the thread we started about funny looking white worm parasites in cardinal tetra and see if it's that. The one mine had looked like it was on the outside but it was just under the skin some of the time.
  3. hahaha that little guy is great! Maybe you need to feed him more hahah
  4. We rolled on some acrylic house paint and it gave a much better finish than when brushed on the first tank. The edges do try to a peel a little if it gets bumped by wires going around corners if you take it right to the edges like I did, but overall I'm happy with it and would do it again.
  5. Killies breeding = boy fish + girl fish + water + sexy music = fry I didn't do anything except fuss around like a mother hen :nilly: Killies are happy in small tanks - see my tank below and throughout the killie section. You just have to seperate the larger groups of males when they get too bolshy if you don't like seeing ruffled scales. If you put your location in your avatar we know where you are and people might point you in the direction of nearby others.
  6. killie fish I have some on TM that will breed soon enough, if you are in auckland.
  7. If they have been growing in a bucket under your supervision and the water looks ok to you can just feed straight to them. I haven't heard of anyone purging the worms, I have fed mine straight to the killies. I'm sure I will be corrected if wrong.
  8. That would be a good idea but I'm sticking to low tech. The evidence is telling me this was not a great plant choice for this tank after all
  9. Interesting lesson learned this week - I have too many grown males and not enough harmony for my liking. Presumably this is partially due to the tank size and the amount of males that hatched. Some of the males have had a few ruffled scales from their stand offs so 2 are now 'on holiday' in a divided tank in the garage. A couple more are spoken for in auctions and hopefully some more will go soon too. If anyone in Auckland is interested in some males please PM me.
  10. I did not see that thread. Sam, my moss is christmas moss but it always makes long tendrils that grow straight up in the air  It still looks pretty but it's not the christmas moss effect
  11. dammit why will my moss not grow feathery like that :an!gry what's the green pipe?
  12. wouldn't a Superworm have a cape? :dunno:
