Just wanting to know how everyones tanks are doing in this hot weather. I just found my 8 foot at 32'c have had the heaters off since early December....Going to have to try vent the garage a bit more, oddly the 4 footer is still sitting around 24 in the same room.

Yeah if your willing to remove the rock even better, as L.A. says just rinse it thoroughly before putting it back in. Try keep it intact when removing it bursting it will release millions of spores. Also if you leave the anchor it will regrow.

Small grape like thing looks to be bubble algae, though I can't see it clearly. I use the glass tubes from broken heaters attached to a air hose, and scrape it off as its sucking, not the best method but with time you can beat it. there is some good information here

I just don't go back to stores I don't like. (though im banned from the local animates) P44 should spawn, raise em up well on carlsberg, and send one to every animates store. Problem solved.

take a soft drink bottle and cut the top off just before the neck starts, turn it upside down and place it in the remaining part of the bottle. This is a picture off the net I presume its collected water over time, I keep mine dry so I have live flies to feed out instead of drowned ones. Easy and cheap, I used old fish bait and ox heart trimmings and left it in a warm part of the yard, within a couple of hours there were lots of flies. Tape can be used to seal it better but I found sprite bottles it was snug enough.

When in doubt get the hammer out.

Type it in google if you are unsure, it will soon correct you. It doesnt bother most people as long as its readable, but the spelling police will nab you.

Use cable ties and rocks to weigh it down where needed, you could even find another piece of driftwood and secure it to that. One heavy rock where the person with the blue finger nails hand is should do it.

I thought they were nickel coated, nickel poisoning can cause blindness in humans. Australian 1 and 2 dollar coins are made from 92 percent copper, 6 percent aluminium and 2 percent nickel, I expect our coins to be similar.
