Most do, If you get a good one like the one buzzy's got that eats fakes and frozen then not so much.
  2. DavidR confuses people seriously??
  3. Jagers have a more efficient coil which allows them to heat more water than other heaters for less wattage.
  4. My advice is to turn the lights of get food that's going to move around place said food in tank and get your hands out. Messing with the tank waving food in front of them with tongs etc, probably isn't going to help.
  5. It'll be hydra probably collected it with your shrimp. Eats fine particles can sting fish especially fry. Think some gouramis eat them, sparkling gourami was one from memory.
  6. Not my point at all only saying common names are inherently difficult to get "right" as they seem to vary everywhere not to do with anyone being a foreigner.
  7. Why don't you give hff a list of all the common names YOU would like to see used so they can get it right. Since you seem to know it all maybe they could use your help :-? . I've been in fish shops in Asia America and Australia not admittedly Europe and they all use a variety of common names a lot of which I didn't recognise, the only system which is consistent is the Latin names which are completely unrealistic for the majority of joe blow average people to use.
  8. As much as I miss mine I would never ever keep another one had it for 16 years never again.
  9. I agree with Henward
  10. Nice mags do you polish them with your hair..
  11. Pure spirulina flake really? NLS all the way all I use..
  12. No luck as of yet female reappeared no fry or anything to be seen this was in a Tang community tank though. I really want to get them in there own set up soon.
  13. We need some Neolamprologus brevis in the country there on the list they get a little bit bigger than Lamprologus ocellatus and I've seen them in mixed tanks over seas no problem.
  14. If your not keeping other fish which like a high Ph what's the point keeping it high why not just remove the limestone? I just don't see the benefit.
  15. They were at hff about 2 years ago I remember as I wanted them but I was just dismantling my tanks at that time to go over seas. A bit like archers havn't seen them for ages then hff got one in I think recently and that was it?. I used to have 2 big ones such awesome fish.
  16. That's my point if I got my Comps to a size were it ate one of my shellies I would be stoked (although sad about the shellie) as I had achieved the years of growing them to get there . Oh and I think go firefox such an awesome fish.
  17. I think if you get the altos to a big enough size to eat the shellie's your doing real well. I've had mine together for age's now no problems at all. Has anyone try'd tropheus with the shellies just wondering? Lelupi are another one to think about I know people recommend not putting them with shellies mine have been together in a smaller tank than that with no aggression for 3 generations of lelupi now in a 800 litre you could get away with a lot.
  18. Metriaclima aurora, Saw some nice ones at hollywood mt Roskill the other day.
  19. Always have brine shrimp and have tons of whiteworms so it sounds like there pretty standard just the whole slow growth thing that's hard.
  20. Looks like my Gold's might have spawned in my display tank I wasn't expecting it but hopefully I can get a few fry out of it. Has any one had any luck spawning and raising these guys? Looks like I might have to find room to get them there own tank somewhere, I might need a shipping container before long .
