    3 foot tank

If your gonna make a coldwater tank you might as well stick a large powerhead (or 2) and make it a hillstream loach tank :bounce: :bounce:

  4. My thoughts would be a Cookie Monster for plants
  5. It's getting cloudy  :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: they've been laying eggs all over these plants now since about 7ish this morning and they're still 'doing' it 4 hours later They've managed to tip this pot over and get eggs all over it you can see some eggs on this one but the roots under the plant diddn't focus very well (the coloured thing at the bottom is a scale with abit of flesh attached :-? )
  6. They are usally quite bad tail nippers, there were a few in the pet shop here that completely destroyed a fighters tail, so they might not get along with your guppies then again all fish have different personalities

Good luck with the fry :bounce: :bounce: , I love these fish and can't wait to get a pair but that will have to wait  (I have enough tanks in my room atm  ) From what I've read with there colours you're probably going to get a mix of all different reds but am not sure about the wild, other than that I guesss you're going to have to play the waiting game :bounce:
  8. Grats on him talking :bounce: :bounce: What is your defintion of 'Bird people'?? Does having 3 sun conures, 14budgies, 20 canaries, 3 quails and 4 turqusines count ???

    3 foot tank

What are you using to dose ammonis?? I recon a school of tetras/rasboras (30ish:D) And a pair of BN (hide a peice of wood behind the rocks)

    3 foot tank

Personally I would lower the second rock about 2-3 cm (to make it more uneven, which would make it more visually pleasing ), and slope the gravel up to the first rock around the bottom (so there's no gap between the rock and substrate) other than that it looks awesome and can't wait to see it planted :bounce: :bounce:
  14. The small particles of wood/algae/ stuff thats on wood would then float around the tank  Do you mean by that that there is a hole in the wood that he's inside(or a cave )

    3 foot tank

I like the look of the concave scapr :bounce: I would make it an amazon (ish) planted tank with a pair of cockatoos(or blue rams) as the feature fish (but that is me ) If you wanted it for bettas, I would get a crypt balanase and plant it in the corner behind rocks/ wood so it flows out over top of everything, then java moss/fern, anubias, more crypts, ambulia ect ect planted in a pleasing design It does not!!!!!!! my harlequin rasboras would beat your neons any day

    Sand

It's pretty much the same as gravel Eventually with sand/ gravel the finer grains will get to the bottom with tyhe larger/coarser grains on top
  17. Bristlenose's would be fine in your discus tank What else would be alright depends on what else you want :bounce: :bounce:
  18. Hes a very cool bird you have rescued, hope he survives (how do you know it's a guy  ) and you actually chewed on a waxmoth :-? Also are you sure it doesn't have some kind of eye infection??

    New Discus Tank

Nice tank but where are all the plants
  20. Good luck with the tank , they prefer a planted tank and its definitely big enough the gravel should be finer and more rounded, the colour of it doesn't really matter either Once you start the tank I personally would wait a few weeks before adding a BN/ algae eating fish If you are planning on having it a planted tank, also the BN should be fine with the cories A school of 15-20 tetras would look awesome in a planted tank
  21. To start move the fish, then drain most of the water away so as to not ruin anything but be light enough to be carried by 1/2 people place the tank on the floor or on a table to be able to move the draws move the draws to desired position place tank back on draws fill tank back up add fish and voila!!!! :bounce: (hope you have fun )
  22. Which plant are you talking about.....
  23. Thanks for that :bounce:, I never actually realized how big it was The photo with the oto sitting on the leaf and the flower bud close up look awesome
  24. goldfish eat plants?? the ones in the pond haven't touched anything even the almost 20cm long ones , I think I might be having to get some of that PMDD
  25. Hi and welcome to this site It's a great tank to start with the only thing that some people dont like is the gap by the filter and the fact that it's really hard to clean (in that spot) other than that the only thing you would need is a few test kits (PH, Ammonia, nitrites and nitrates) Also what were you planning on sticking it there fish and plant wise
