  1. I saw one of those in the LFS. was only $60. all you need to do is bung a heater down the back part, and a hang on filter.
  2. I just bought my partner the fender squire and amp for her birthday, its her first electric and she loves it.
  3. What do we get a free airstone and checkvalve with?
  4. My CF1200 lots a load of pressure since it was new. It still has good output, just without the sheer power that had me in awe when I first started it up. It got a full (I mean full, blasted lines out, cleaned all media, impellor and well etc etc) clean 2 weeks ago and no change.
  5. I have a plastic breeding cone that I no longer need. Ill probably sell it with my pair when I move them on soon. I have the cone in the middle of a bare 20L tank, just with a sponge filter and heater, and they do their thing. I remove them shortly after. The main reason I have very small yields (I currently have 11 fry left that are 1 month old) is because I dont feed newly hatched brine shrimp.
  6. Titan quest ftw. Nowadays I spend all my time cleaning tanks. I should do it for a living really...
  7. Its easy as and we'll walk you through it. Im pretty sure its a hell load cheaper too. The only real difference is that you choose your own lighting and filter. All you need: Plain glass tank Canister filter Heater Lighting to meet your requirements. Only need mega lighting for mega planted setups. and thats it. the light just sits on top of the tank. the canister sits wherever and you put it and place in the input and outputs. Job done. My 3ft setup cost only $130 for the 150L tank, $170 for a 1200Lph canister, $100 for the light unit, and $40 for a 300w heater. thats only $440 new!
  8. I like the Aquaone 620T that I have. Except the filter is pants and I have to clean it weekly. I however do not like the all-in-one tanks. Buying a plain glass tank and adding your own hardware is much better.
  9. Im quality Manager for a plastics company, Injection moulding
  10. Im picking up an juve Oscar today. Cant wait to teach him to smash ping-pong balls around

    Tank stands

Im searching for a stand for a 4ft tank (120 x 45 x 45 ish) LFS quoted me outrageous prices (500-900) Im not able to make one myself... Does anyone have one I can buy? or Anyone know a stock product at bunnings or mitre 10 or something that will serve the purpose? or Anyone know a good workshop or something that can make one? Im upgrading my 3ft to a 4ft with minimal cost...
  12. Mine dont get any special treatment and they spawn every 2 weeks. A record was broken last night, they laid eggs on my intake pipe, and it took about 3 minutes after theyd finished for my swarm of neons to attack them
  13. Get an aquaone CF500. They are on trademe brand new for about 140... Well worth the money, and in the case of your tank, will be uber powerful. Plus you'd only real have to attend to it every 3 months or so...
  14. Im successfully growing 2 vallis, 2 javaferns and 2 baby javaferns, and an amazon sword in an aquaone620T on only 6hrs of light per day. My other tank is growing Javaferns, Vallis and Hygro with a single small tube on for 5hrs a day.
  15. Perch used to be my favourite quarry when fishing in the UK. Really cool fish. Like an evil, green, oversized bolivian ram. lol
  16. I dont like using a hose, unless there are not going to be fish in that tank for a few years. Individual buckets are good as you can semi-de-chrorinate by making a jetstream out of the tap, as well as monitoring the temperature. My tanks are below my windows, but cant get them to syphon that high
  17. I do 50% monthly on my 150L. I test weekly though and do a change if anything is out of the ordinary.
  18. I used one. It was small though so had to have it as just 2 compartments. Used to rotate my males, one could swim in the community for a while and 2 in the container, then switch them every now and then That looks like a big one, if it is, they are pretty good.
  19. Does that included raising a batch of fry with a x% survival rate? Ive found getting many different fish to spawn is easy. Raising the fry however, not quite as easy...
  20. I have a Giant betta, hes about 3'' long. He flares at cichlids twice his size whenever theyve been together for short periods. With my experience with Bettas and other fish, never had any problems so long as everyone has hiding places. Bettas are far from quick, neither are plecos, the only way a pleco would get attacked is if he didnt have a log to hide under?
  21. WIth my pair I keep bolivian rams, Bristlenose, Neons, Cories, Kulhi's and even a giant Plakat Have also successfully kept Keyholes, fighters, Dwarf gouramis, blackwidows, a blue acara, a juvenile red jewel with angels. Basically you can keep anything with them as long as they are small (id say less than 3''), theres plenty of room, and arent fin nippers (like tiger barbs)
  22. LOL. Im going to pull the hoses off and give em a good blast tomorrow theres more gunk in the hoses than in the filter...
