Yes and their tank is at an even more perfect 6.8. Kh is 3 deg so has minimum optimal buffer for them. The breeding tank is 7.8 My CA/SA Cichlid tank is 6.0 (lots of new driftwood) Tap water is 7.0

Does boiling get rid of that reddy-brown colour of the wood, or is that just old age? All my wood is rather brightly colour at the moment I never boil it though.

Doh sorry cant believe I posted all that without putting what the PH is. Its 7.8 I want 6.8. All my other tanks are between 6.2 and 6.8, no idea why this is so high. Its been like this since I filled it and started running it last weekend.

I have a 20L new tank setup as an angel spawner. Its barebottom. Has a heater Plastic breeding cone and a sponge filter - the water and the sponge filter were taken from a cycled 6.8ph tank. I dosed with methyline blue this week, and its also still cycling - nitrites but no nitrates yet - nothing too high, the ammonia is 0.5ppm Just to cover my bases I did two 50% water changes in quick succession, and took the breeding cone out and boiled it (just in case was leeching chemicals) Any ideas of why the PH is so high? Auckland water has next to no buffering, and the ph outta the tap is lower.

Now my pair are readily spawning, although a spawn has yet to be successful (disappearing eggs) Im setting up a dedicated tank with a sponge filter and breeding cone to place them in as soon as they are ready... but, my male has stunted fins. I bought him at adult size from the LFS. My suspicions were that hed been given to them as the previous owner didnt have a big enough tank - didnt bother me too much at the time as didnt expect him to breed.. Well, basically do I move him on and get a better male specimen? how long until a new male and my current female hit it off?

You mean although the camera is very close, It would read as a 'distant' signal? Laser detectors are also useless IMO. Their only good purpose is that once signal picked up, you know youve been pinged, and wether to gap it

A have a whistler cruisader on the bike, fully integrated unit. Works well. Never been ticketed when Ive been using it - and I spend a lot of time at 150+, and the front wheel in the air. I have a cobra for the car, a $99 jobby, havent really tested it as my partner finds it annoying all the beeping. The key thing is to get a unit that can be programmed to turn off all bands apart from Ka, otherwise youll get alerts left right and center.

Im using one of those chem bio pouch things. Clears tannin stains from water within a few hours, removes all bad substances just like carbon does too - and is rechargeable.

I can and I do Though I dont do the grocery shopping by bike anymore, but easily got good storage with the right luggage. Im probably dryer when I get to work than people who park in teh carpark outside work and have to run into the building hehe

Sliding on your butt at 150 or so is actually not to bad, on the track anyway. As long as you dont actually hit anything its fine... at lower speeds It can be fun... until you look over and see ya bike sliding along with you! Anyways, any of you guys do drags?

That many water changes could be causing a wee bit of disturbance with the substrate and stuff? Or maybe its how its setup - may not be pulling as much from the discus tank as the other? Get a small hang-on filter like an aqua clear for the discus tank IMO.

I didnt like the track 5 layout. Turn 8 is one of my favourite corners. And track 5 cuts it up this is me:) I find it greatly amusing that youd have to spend at least 50k on a car to be close to a 10k bike hehe

What kind of times do you guys get on track 1 (full circuit) ? I do 1:43-44'S on a bike

Does anywhere sell the breeding cones? they seem hard to find...

Yeah but im after slate for aesthetics They are in a tall tank and the link spawning right near the top away from potential egg eaters, and neither cones or pots reach that high

Spawned again. Saturday night seems to be their favourite time to get it on They keep laying on the filter tube so need to find a better solution. Its just them, a pair of rams and a cleaning crew so they essentially have the tank to themselves now. Hopefully this spawn is successful. Theyll be some free angels up for grabs in a month or so
