  1. If you have one bottle and two diffusers only one will work as the CO2 will take the path of least resistance which will be the one diffuser. You will need two bottles but it is not a lot of yeast that you use so your mum won’t even notice an extra teaspoon missing. Or you could tell her you are using the same amount but halving the bottle size and splitting it in to two. The heating pad is not needed if you sit it next to your tank because the tank will heat it for you.
  2. You dont need to remove them for cleaning, He told me to just soak them in something and then rince them if they clog up
  3. I dont know how well this would work for you but it is what I did: You could avoid having a spray bar by just pumping back in to the filter box and talking the water out of the tank form the other end. It would also mean that you are diffusing the flow a bit too.
  4. Why would they sell something that is making them money? If it was loosing money I could understand it. Why would they throw away $20m+ per annum? The current thought is that they might sell shares and still keep a majority so they are still in control. This would mean that people would have more interest in it as an investment and it would raise the required capital. To me it seem like the only logical step for them to make as it would be a stronger business if it becomes listed and has a share price

    Hey Sam!

Zev you have no idea what you have started
  6. I work in a bank and talk to the treasury people so they know a lot more than I do As for the GST comment: More rich people will be able to avoid the tax as GST can be reclaimed if you have a good accountant
  7. Looking at it in the short term in my opinion is the worst thing that can be done. If they said they were going to half all taxes for example would be good in the short term and people would be happy till the govt went bankrupt and everyone lost every cent they have. As it is now they are changing things which will cost some more but in the long term will make life easier and cheaper for all. Yes GST is going up but that is just because it needs to because the previous govt put the current govt in a position to need to do it. This budget and all increases in tax have been caused by the last govt looking for a short term fix. edit: all if the above is my opinion and I am not "educated" in finance. This is just what I think and what I have talked to guys at work about
  8. I personally do not think anyone on here is able to comment about the "future financial sustainability". There are very few people that are able to see what this budget will do to us in the future and most people will look at it in a short term. Unless you have spent years at uni and studied (doctorate) in finance then you should not comment
  9. I wonder if my boss would accept that if I did not turn up at work on Tuesday
  10. Here you go Sam. If you look here you will find out where it is www.google.co.nz
  11. [*] This is just like retail. Zane gets them in at $1.50, we pay $2.00 and then on sell for $3  It is just like the real world: Zane = importer/wholesaler Me and Bronze = retailer P44 = Retail customer
  12. Well said KB Competition keeps things a little more honest. There are a lot of small towns like this that have been made in to a better place because of lager company and people that import their own goods
  13. Go for it Zane. You need to learn how to make money for yourself so I would say get it in and sell it cheaper then the LFS. If you sell enough of them you can turn it in a good little business. When your business is doing well enough to (as Barry said) "get rid of all those fish shops" you will be able to buy one of them and sell your cheap imports so that you too can feed your family.
  14. Have called Dulux? 0800 4 DULUX (38589) or 0800 800 424 If you speak to the supplier they might be able to help you
  15. The Juwel filter worked well for me. The tank also has holes in the back so you can have both the internal and a canister working together. At one stage I have an ehime 2213 on the tank as a back up. It sucked out from one end and the flow back in to the tank went in to the internal filter box. The plants love the lights they have
  16. I used it as a comparison because it is the first and last Fluval I will buy and they are about the same age (I think). If someone wants to give me one to prove to me they are good I will be happy try it
  17. If I was to compare the Fluval 404 on the 200L thank to the CF2400 on the 440L tank I would have to say that the 404 is clearly the Lada. I have not had an FX5 but the 404 is horrible. The seals are average at best. Putting it back together after cleaning is difficult.
  18. I had a look and they seem to be about the same profoemance wise and the warranty is the same for all. For what it is worth you could buy two CF2400's for the price of an FX5 FX5 - 2300L/h, 5.9L Capacity, 3 year warranty and sutiable for up 1500L aquarium Pro3 2075 - 1250L/h, 9.2L Capacity, 3 year warranty and sutiable for up 600L aquarium CF2400 - 2400L/h, 22L Capacity, 3 year warranty and sutiable for up 800L aquarium
  19. If it works and is nice and quiet then why not. The only thing that the other two have over it is an ego. I have the CF2400 on a 440L tank and it is more than enough. It sits right next to me on the couch and I can not hear it. I believe it also hold more media then the other two but has a similar flow rate.
  20. What about a Aqua One CF2400? You can get them a for under $400
  21. Your stuff is about that same as what I have and all the bottom feeders love digging around in it
  22. This is going to sound a bit strange but what do you use to do the WC? If you are using a bucket has someone used it for something they shouldnt have. Also do you have carbon in the filter?
  23. We are going down south on the 21st so if someone in the side of the straight has anything they are able to supply we can take it down. That is if Joe can pick them up from Picton at 11:30 on the 21st
