  1. I should add to that that most of the people I work with do have degrees they have said that work is a lot harder than any time they spent at uni
  2. I have to agree with you on that Barry (not that I am currently in a position to employ people). I would be happy to do 2 exams for some of the work days I have had trying to organise thousands of transactions and make sure the total is exactly $0.00 as even being out $0.01 is unacceptable. That along with dealing with customers, reporting 10 peoples stats (sales, new funds to the bank, reinvestment %, average talk time) and any other account maintenance. At least you get to have a break between exams. I often start at 7:30 and work through till 4:30 with just breaks to go and make a coffee to bring back to my desk. I also need to fit forum time in there somewhere.
  3. 2 x 3 hour exams in one day compared with 12 hours work that some if us do (have done in the past) What is the problem with 6 hours work? Even 9 hours for the guys running it is not bad because at the moment my work day is a minimum of 9 hours Students should be smart enough to watch it on demand For those that are not smart: http://tvnz.co.nz/shortland-street/s19- ... eo-3689797
  4. The bit were I put a "?" makes the sentence before it a question. It is common politeness to reply when asked a question.
  5. I did not say you were "ripping people off" I said that the fish were "overpriced" in comparrison with what the rest of the market is charging for the same thing. Things can be overpriced and still sell. I did however say that your marketing in my opinion is "misleading and borderline deceptive" but you have kept it within the law so you cannot be considered as "ripping people off". You are just relying on them not shopping around for the best price.
  6. I would not say I dislike you. I would say that some of your marketing is misleading and borderline deceptive. For example when the zebra’s were first available you told people that you were importing them. This implied that they would only be available through your stores. When in fact they were available at any LFS in the country that uses the same supplier. I think that this is a good time to share a PM I sent you. Please note that I never got a reply to this so I assume that you just deleted it:
  7. They were on the suppliers list so any LFS could have ordered them in for you. I know that a store in Christchurch had the for sale for $650ish. A store in Wellington had offered me them at $700 if I wanted them (not Tania's work)
  8. I like this line "No where else for sale except our store (despite what some people claim) " The only reason they are the only ones with them for sale is they were at least $250+ more expensive than everyone else and everyone else has sold all of their fish but HFF are stuck with their overpriced fish
  9. Would need someone to photo shop out the background but I have always liked this girl
  10. It was 11 or 12 years ago and it was $5.50. "Real terms" means nothing when it is the fact that I used to live on $40 a week after my bills were paid (if i did overtime). That had to cover food, gas, smokes and entertainment
  11. Now people are lucky enough to get $12.75 which is more than twice what my first full time job paid
  12. Tania got her job after 7 years of working and getting paid more than she is now but we agreed that I would be the main financial provider so that she could do what she enjoys and she is good at. She is experienced and has a vet on call to give advice if she can not figure out what is wrong. A lot of people work with animals because they want to be able to help the animals and educate people on how to look after their animals so the animal can have a better life not just because they cant find any other job.
  13. I use one and I got a 4G one that was a not overly expencive. Have a look at http://www.pricespy.co.nz This is not the one I got but found this 4G for $21 + shipping http://computer.thewisdombird.com/kings ... -p-83.html
  14. The best advice you can be given it do do as much research as you can. If possible go and see some in someones tank so you know what healthy fish look like. Then if they are not up to a good standard I would not buy them. A short time ago we got a fish from a tank at Animates down here. The tank was green and had a sign on it but we asked to buy them at our risk because the ones we wanted looked really good and I knew as soon as the sign came off someone would buy them. The are still happy and healthy in our tank
  15. What did the look like before you took them out of your quarantine? Were they thin/sick looking before you put them in your main tank? Also a pet shop is there to sell you stuff. They are not qualified to diagnose what is wrong with your fish. The will often offer suggestions as to what they think it might be and how they personally would treat the fish if it was in their tank. If you want a more accurate answer you need to take them to a trained specialist. By the sounds of it HFF have also sold you something that has not worked so you should change the subject to;
  16. I even have a set of the old alloy V cans floating around the house somewhere
  17. I am down to 2 or 4 a day from the 8 to 10+ I used to be. I do also have about 10 or more coffees now though. Tania used to have a min of 8 a day but she has cut back to 2 a day now (more on weekends)
  18. No there is normally more there the cleaner only takes them away on a Friday and that shot was taken today
  19. I thought I would share my work desk top. If I remember I will post a pic of my PC background some time
  20. I can give you a Yoyo loach if you want one. He is good at eating snails. The price for the fish is: Tania gets more cuddles with your cat
  21. Fingers crossed we will be FNZAS affiliated once the other clubs agree to have us (application is in the process)
  22. It was good to have you there. I am sure everyone is looking foward to next months meeting. If you need us to bring anything up for you just yell and we will see if we can get it for you.
  23. +1 It is a big job and there are a small number of under rescored people to do it
  24. I spent the first 18 years of my life in northland (Whangarei and Welsford)
