Not to worried about the plants, if some survive then great - I have more in my other planted tank so can take clippings from them I noticed afew weeks ago this white growth on one of my tiger barbs, silly me left him in the tank but it appeared to be getting better - but then afew days ago afew more fish got the same growths but with like peeling skin :-? but they do seem to be getting better - hopefully the meds will clear it all up

I treated with wonder tonic for some sort of skin problem - I have twisting val that's already starting to die and other plants that won't survive it. But it's ok as I was getting bored with the tank anyway

Ok I have sacked the loaches .. lol .. and have gone and brought a JBL limcollect snail catcher off TM I hope they work Imsmith - I have not forgotten about your snails .. my plan is that the snail catcher will catch them, then I'll ship them to ya

At the moment my planted 120 litre tank is getting medicated, so ALL my plants will die after medication is finish (don't ask what happen :-? :roll: ) Anyway I am now wanting to totally redo the tank Tank is a Jewel Rio 120 litre I really like the substrate used in this post viewtopic.php?f=4&t=38846 does anyone locally (palmerston north) know if you can get it here?? So if anyone has any ideas - let me know Fish occupying tank at the moment are: albino BN's, tiger barbs & kribs

Hi, sorry to hear your fishies aren't to well. For a tank that is only 20 litres you should really be doing water changes EVERY week or even twice weekly - I would up the water changes to every other day and maybe turn the heater up to 24-25, neons don't like being to hot and see how they go. What kind of filteration do you have in there?

OOH I just had a thought At that landscaping place you got the schist from they have limestone chips, we brought a bag awile back for a tank - that maybe a good buffer? I think it was only like $5 for a big bag of it

I remember afew weeks ago someone posted on here about losing all there fish, with concrete blocks they'd just put in :-? We've had our bricks in for quite some time and had no problems, I guess you wouldn't want to risk it though

yea i think it is, concrete is a good buffer (cheaper than coral too) The bricks we got were from placemakers, you can get different sizes can't quite remember how much we paid but wasn't that much couple of bucks for each brick

all our african tanks usually sit at around 7.5ish

5.5 if you need a babysitter for them while you sort it out, we will be most happy to have them

OK so the zebra loaches are in quantine (sp?) I put 5 trumpet snails in with them on Sunday ... and the snails are STILL there alive and NOT eaten!!!!! :evil: :evil: Maybe I have brought the lazy loaches that won't eat snails

I had the same problem with my turtle he went off his food and wouldn't eat anything .. not even ox heart When I was in New World last week I notice in the frozen fish part these packets of "Kingfisher" chunky seafood marinara it has - shrimps, mussels, squid tentacles, clams - and my turtles LOVES it .. now when I am holding the food at his tank he comes straight over and snaps it up Give it a go!!

Peel them the skin is the part my plecos seem to like the best But yep agreed ALWAYS rinse
