    Help

Sorry I don't know whats the problem But if it's fallen off i'd be inclined to do a really good gravel vaccum - have you got any other fish in this tank? are any of them showing any signs of the same problem?
  5. I asked B&S at the time we ordered them, and never got a reply as to what they were. I do remeber someone saying they were common whiptails if thats the proper name. Try posting a picture someone might be able to ID them??
  6. Yea those Mint balls are really good, I brought one prolly about a year ago now, and it's still going strong - also the black kongs XL is super that hasn't even got any bite marks on it and the dogs love it when i stuff them with goodies and freeze them
  7. While i was just outside hanging out washing i found one of there tennis balls - the brand is Wilson
  8. i to have that problem - but find the cheapy balls you buy last all of seconds but we now buy the expensive balls from sports shops last alot longer usually replace it maybe once a month and withstand major munching from our Mastiff - i can't remeber the brand we buy now my dogs have slobber the name off possibly be sterling? they come in tubes of 3.
  9. I also find the BN's like having terricotta pots in the tank they seem to love cleaning them, must get a nice build up of slime :-? I get my hubby to cut a small hole in them and turn them upside down
  10. Take a drive to the beach or river and gather driftwood - sometimes you can find some really nice pieces. Just give them a hose down and pop it in your tank. I like to boil my wood to help get rid of the tannins
  11. Alrightie then, so I would proberly start off adding 1 or 2 BN's or a couple of guppies to the tanks to start of the cyling process (you can't cycle a tank without fish in there) and then slowly add more fish over say a few months period I usually tend to add 2 fish a week to let the filter build up enough good bacteria to handle the load
  12. My male & female are about 10cm approx. But as Caryl said they will breed when they want to breed .. lol .. just make sure you have plently of caves, hidey holes and wood with deep cervices and if the male happens to like a certain "spot" then you'll be away laughing
  13. i think the Wetpets water is $1 per 20 litres. I just use water straight from the tap and add Stress Coat or Prime to take the nasties out - palmy's water is pretty bad for fish so make sure you do use some sort of water ager. But agreed with all about cyling your tank first, how big are the tanks and what fish are going in them?
  14. Aww you're so lucky .. have a really great time
  15. Sorry to hear of your lose, it's always hard losing a favorite fishie. I would proberly put it down to - just one of those things. Afew q's though - how many cories do you have in the tank, cories are alot happier in a group of at least 6 or more - so that could be a reason for the death? Maybe could of been alittle stressed by being chased?
  16. We got ours from Placemakers $30ish for a 25kg bag
  17. Thats one very lucky fish Nice setup btw
  18. Aww Luca is just adorable :bounce: A big CONGRATS to you all :bounce:

most of your common fish are reasonable I guess, but a couple of examples of being overpriced are - $20 or so for marbled hatchets at animates palmy compared to $40 odd at wetpets $39ish royal whiptail animates to $60ish at wetpets I don't bag wetpets at all, I really like it there - but i've noticed there prices have gone up quite abit since they changed owner/management

Pretty much our best fish shop in town as far as clean tanks and very healthy fish are concerned Staff used to know what they were talking about but they have left there now But yea way over priced now - but deffinitely worth a visit
  22. You have to be sneaky then .. and do what I did, position his cave directly in view ... I've done that with snowballs cave and see him whenever i like
  23. Sorry no... Glen just said no he's part of the family, but we'll buy him off you
  24. LOL I don't think so mate!!!!! Good try or perhaps ... I'll give you snowball .... if ... you give me your king tiger
  25. Thanks for that whetu - I know i'm a bit of a oddball when it comes to my bottom dwellers. I'd rather have a tank full of bottom fishes  i got the yoyo & zebra loaches to eradicate my snail problem and have now grown rather attached to them and they all seem to get on marvellously. I did have 6 hatchets, but 3 have since turned to carpet fishes (due to jumping out at cleaning time) :-? so I won't be replacing them As for my cories - I love cories - they could possibly go into another tank Cricketman. My snowball pleco gets on very well with all other residents - I had him in his own tank and he was rather unhappy i never saw him - but since being in the tank he's in now we see him all the time and comes out to eat with all the rest of the fish As for my filteration - I think with the large water changes the tank gets I think the filteration is fine.
