My Kribs have just had babies freeswimming now for 2 days - I have siphoned them out into a bb tank geezz they are tiny Do they grow fast? and will they ok with decap brine shrimp now or is it to soon?

Yea tanks way to small to hold comets, a fantail or such maybe ok - if you are wanting to stick with coldwater i'd suggest mountain minnows they say small possibly even paradise fish? Or like others have suggested go tropical, you have a greater selection to choose from

I boil for a good 3 hours my wood and never have problems with tannins

Ours isn't that old only brought the tank setup in december - so don't think it's got to do with aged bulbs

Don't you hate it when something like this happens - hopefully you'll have the tank back up and running soon. Do you have a bathtub? i'd just fill that up and put them in there. My brother had the same thing happen and had his 2 turts living in his bathtub for 1 month with a heater in there. But someone else hopefully will let you know weather it's ok to drydock them I don't think you need to worry about your filter - turtles are alot harder than fish, don't need to cycle a turtle tank

This stuff is great in cichlid tanks - the only plant i've found that lasts long enough

I agree with you mystic it just doesn't look right, the fins looks pretty but NOT on a oscar - oscars are mean looking not flowly and pretty lol "JMO"

To be quite honest I don't think the sen could have fitted anymore in his huge tummy - he is still quite uncomfortable looking he hasn't been swimming around normally yet still looks rather bloated :evil:

We'd love to but .. we were extremly lucky getting them in the first place and the price we paid was pretty good too. We really just haven't got the money to be spending on fish at the moment So we'll just have to hope for the best with the remaining 4 hopefully it'll be a ratio of 1m 3f ... fingers soooo crossed it is :roll:
