  1. nice, I was told they didn't get much bigger than what I had so it will be cool if they get bigger. wow, I've never had any problems with my oscars and they have been with the yellows ever since i got them 18 or so months ago. Have allways planned on moving the yellows out once the oscars are fully grown and I have the funds to set up a nice African tank
  2. Thats what I was thinking earlyer today so will be leaving as is. move to quick to see, but at a guess, somewhere around 10 - 15cm. Had them in the same tank with 2 of the oscars before with no problems if thats what your thinking
  3. Well the wife and I moved into our new place last week and its time to finally set the main tank back up, but the stock will be a little different 4 Oscars 2 Red parrots 12 Electric yellows 1 Peacock cichlid 4 cuckoo synodontis 2 Plecos 2 Yoyo loachs (fully grown) All this will be going back into a 850L tank, I'm just wondering if I should leave it as it is... or add something to it... Any ideas
  4. awesome, this means I can refill my main tank tomorrow
  5. Just wondering if you don't have to wait the standard 7 days after siliconing if it used in the tank but not for holding it together? e.g. just holding air tube to glass
  6. Both the wife and I watch Naruto and Bleach. Wife has all most all of the Gundam dvd sets
  7. at lest they tried to be helpfull
  8. thankfully it was a freshwater tank
  9. Well the tank is empty and the fish are sorted, I'm just going to bed I think, I can sort the rest out after work tomorrow
  10. Well I went into our spare room which the wife and I use as our fishroom, and where we keep her computer... I sat down to check a few emails and stuff and saw that one of the 80 liter tanks was half empty, so I went to have a look, and I quickly find the carpet in front of the tank stands is quite wet. After a few quick loud word which I won't say here, I'm having fun bagging a few fish and trying to find what other tanks I could put them in.... Biggest pain is I'm meant to be giving the landlord 3 weeks notice on friday that were moving out, so another mess to clean before leaving - and one that needs to be done quick  looks like I'm resealing tanks on saturday
  11. What I've been thinkin about doin now is, I have 2 oscars just over a year old (about just over half grown), and putting 3 or 4 fully grown angels with them. I have some young fish (electric yellows) in with the oscars at the moment and the oscars don't even bother looking at them. So far they have never started a fight with any other fish I've kept in the same tank... just come out on top if something tried fighting them. If I do end up trying this I will deffently keep a close eye on the angels to make sure there going to be ok - plus I allways have a spare tank or 2 I can move them to if they get picked on
  12. cool, after I move I might try this then
  13. I've read and seen on the net that people have kept fully grown angelfish with oscars, I though that wouldn't work out to well but wondering if any one has done this and had no problems. I'm keen to give this a go but only if people havn't had any problems. For any one that has done this, what did you find the best way to stop bullying as they both share the same level of the tank most of the time imo?
  14. yea, alot more work seems to get done. I'm trying to get a few perk jobs to earn a bit to help pay for the bits i need to build a new computer.
  15. I never noticed how much time I could waste on a computer untill a week ago... My comp has allways had a bit of a problem but since I know a little about them I have been able to keep it running... well untill a week ago, now it doesn't finish booting up (and I have found the problem) Luckly I built a computer a year ago for the wife... sadly its in the spare room covered with stuff at the mo so its a pain every time I gota use it. Any way I have found this to be a good thing, now that I have a computer just like my cell phone... not working lol, I am really enjoying the quiet that comes with this pain, it has given me time to enjoy doing a few odd jobs around the house I forgot about 3 - 4 months ago. Has any one had on of lifes little problems like this and found it to be great?
  16. would of jumped on last night but my computer died and my wifes comp doesn't have a irc client (to lazy to download one at the mo). Will download one when i get back from fishing

    Krib problem

My oldest female krib (about 2 - 3 years old) has been hovering in the same area for 5 hours with its mouth stuck wide open and lost all most all of her coloring. I have moved her into a net in the tank to keep her away from the other fish just in case. Is there anything I can do? or any one have a clue what could be the mater? :-? Thanks
  22. Not sure on looking after one. Wife was telling me that there hard to deal with and when you go to release it, if it ends up in the territory of another Pukeko family, it will get attacked and possible killed by them. She is trying to find the book she read about them in, if found will post any useful info later. Hope that helps Edit- after reading the other post that were done while I was typing (lol, i'm not the fastest typer) I can see why they are a pain / hard to deal with. Good luck, and glad to see some have seen something similar to what the wife and I where trying to find. Still looking just in case of any other useful bit
