    Well so far we have gone from Motueka to Hammer, going to enjoy the hot pools this morning. Will probably turn around and carry on heading south on the west coast for today

    Hanmer springs is all ready on the list. Thanks for the offer Caryl but I have family in and just out of Blenheim so I'll be expected to stay there. Would be keen to meet up with the local club members though. Will flick you a pm once we know our plan, but I think Nelson is our first stop - family there as well

    Going for a bit of a road trip, leaving on monday morning to go south and have no plans what so ever apart for having to be in Christchurch by friday evening. Any one got any recommendations on places to stop? Any clubs having their meetings this week as it would be cool to stop by some of the other clubs? Thanks

    Don't know if it would suit for the job but you could pull a part a few old car stereo speakers - like 6x9's, they have some strong magnets in them

    Yeah its for home brew spirits. I don't mind having to replace it, as with spirits you need to replace the carbon each time any way. I'm looking at building my own filter similar but bigger to the old Z filter design

    Is there any difference between the carbon granules from the pet shop and food grade? or they all the same just in a different packet? If there is any one know where I can get food grade cheep / bulk?

    You can still go to a sport or gun shop and buy one over the counter if your over 18 with out a license. If the law passes then any air rifle over so much power (can't remember the measure) will need a class of license for. I found out about this through some one that is part of NZ Mountain Safety Council

    The police are trying to change the law again so if that does go through - They have caught onto that and trying to make all rifles like that calling the thumb hole stile E-CAT as well. My mate has his E-CAT and I've heard a bit about what the police are trying to push through. Sorry a little :smot: but I heard the other day that there now trying to make it so you need a sort of license to get an air-rifle as well

    I hope you find a great home. We would offer but still need to get a fully fenced property first. Awesome dog

    Just setting up a little 60L tank, and till I have the time to order a nano skimmer I was going to use one of the old wooden air stone skimmers. Can any one tell me if where the water get sucked in from just under the catch area is meant to be just under the water level, or a bit more under. I'll try and get a few photo's tomorrow of the skimmer

    not confirmed yet but maybe heading up north along SH1 on Monday. Won't know where I'm going till Sunday night really - but possibly could meet somewhere along the way if we end up passing the area. HTH

    Yea it needs something to cover the back but thats a later project stock: (and I do want to get more) Black aro archer 10 stirbi corys 5 kribs 2 Royal plec's (red not dull eye) 1 Goldie plec 1 albino plec 3 Angel fish (growing out 5 more to add) 1 BGK A nice mix but most are bottom to mid

    Haven't posted in ages and finally had time to do a huge over haul on our big tank (2000x650x700mm), so thought I would share what I've done. Sorry for the bad pic's but had to use phone camera as I have no idea where the digi camera cable has gone

    I would of loved to come along since I'm missing the UHAS meeting this week, plus it would be great to meet some new faces. But I head back on friday avo :facepalm:

    I'm in Christchurch for a few weeks for work and wondering if there are any lfs worth looking at or anything worth going and having a look at? (that's if I get the time to)
