yup, Paul (Billaney) suggested that I do an Ammonia test and nitrates so i gave Animates a sample of my tank water and they came up negligible - so I bought some PH DOWN and did continuous WCs but the pH wouldn't come down so Paul suggested it was the gravel and I even took out ornaments that could leach - 3 days later all the fish were dead. The fish were all healthy and happy before addition to that tank and the pH was the only component that was different

omg it's horrible! had an incident like this about two years ago when I bought the wrong type of gravel - asked for Autumn harvest and got limestone mixture ...pH shot upto 8 and lost all my silver sharks, angels and lemon tetras = all the fish in the tank hard lesson learnt though

sold for stud or food - nothing against beef or veal but just not family pets... Wow that's a pretty penny!

always make the same mistake in their name..like Rage against The Machine...used to call them Rage against a Machine :roll: then I just shortend their name to Rage and System for simplistic sake

it was an intense albino snake among red flowers and heavy branches - think the tank was form the States...completely jealous! Maybe one day when I'm rich....lol Petermc - so what did you decide in the end? What fish did you get? Update and pics?

I'm the other way around, when I did vet experience four years ago - I had to stay in a cubicle with a Doberman putting my finger on one of its veins in its throat post-operation....I would've rather do that with a yappy chihuahua that won't have a chance of eating me lol

you have to admit it is more "mainstream" - plus after hearing a few songs a few times you get sick of it...I prefer their older songs such as 'Minority', 'Good Riddance'...It seems like they're trying to get at the American justice system but that's been done before by System of the Down plus SOTD is much better

you shouldn't just have one Discus on its own either...should get at least 4 in a group. Your bettas won't get dropsy from fighting over food - it will be from feeding heaps to accommodate your Discus. How big is your tank by the way?

loving the disc like Discus they look gorgeous, how big are they? - In the 15cms?

just keep in mind that Discus need to be fed quite often when younger so you can easily lose your bettas to dropsy no matter how often the water change when they're being over fed - I've lost two

get a larger number of Angels then you can refine your group as they age and fight...plus they look awesome in a group - I'm currently senting up a Blushing Angels feature tank

it's only a 60cm W X 90cm bottom and I'm only wanting enought for a 2inch base..It's a tall Angel tank so shouldn't use that much?
