Ram is fine. eats like a pig, but I don't want it in my main tank ATM. Will go back in a few weeks.

I have about 2sqft of glosso :lol: easiest plant to grow... ever! hahaha. it won't grow in this tank though. what about a pest plant? it could be like a semi educational tank - native fish + pest plant that threatens other fauna? I have some nitella, I recognised it from some other posts and i took a tiny bit from the stream. almost felt like i was plundering so I took tiny bits of gravel from different parts of the stream. lol. I think mosses would be cool. Will see how it goes eh.. I put some prawn meat in there for the koura. dunno if he has found it though.

Thanks! I am happy to report that phase 1 is complete. Went to the river after work. Put the buckets in the car, and as I opened the door this great big wet, drooly, drippy chocolate Labrador jumps in my car and decides to make it his :facepalm: :lol: Then he shook himself in there and much to his owners horror just sat there as I played with him. :lol: But yeah... phase 1 is complete.

In my area of investment banking and finance, you won't even get an interview if you have a masters with any thing less than an A- average across the final year undergrad and first year postgrad level. With the new financial advisers laws being passed and the legislation coming in; jobs in investment banking will be even harder to get. I'm having to pay another 10k to requalify as a financial adviser despite having a degree in finance, international business and a postgrad in banking. :dunno: The Reserve Bank for example will only take 1 -2 students nationally in their grad programme and they must have A averages at the very least. All the people I know that have made the cut had A+ averages. The big 5 accounting firms won't even consider applications from people with lower grades.

It'll have to be strong haha. A tank should be no sweat. The family has an apartment that is very high up and I don't think we have ever stopped to consider how heavy something might be before it was bought. :lol:

He seems happy this morning. I think I have decided on how to set up the tank with stones and natural stream like properties :lol: but there is no matching nature, so I might just dump everything in and let things settle and see how that goes. Maybe when the koura is bigger and stronger he can rearrange bits of the tank; but until then it'll have to be my job haha

His name is bucket. I do not know why, but it seems appropriate. The heater is off, it just lives there so I know where to find one :lol: . The blue ram is in there because it was bothering me being in the main tank. The koura seems quite intelligent. Water is about 20C. Tank gets morning sunlight and that's about it. This koura shall like plants. he is currently in training, but ill do another excursion next weekend and fix the ugliness of the tank. The bullies are still small. I put a shrimp tab in the tank, but if the koura does not know what to do with that, im hoping he knows what to do with little fish. :facepalm: In winter I might give him a never ending supply of minnows or something like that. Tank will eventually have more wood, stones, pebbles and rocks. Also leaf litter like in the stream! Do I need lots of water movement? I'd assume so, so a powerhead could be good. No heating = cheap tank!

You can also buy pitch black exo terra sand. or Flourite.

So I got some bullies and even managed to find a koura! Only a little fella about 5cm long. So I put him and the bullies in my spare tank. Never in my wildest dreams thought I'd be keeping natives, but its still early days. Clearly I need to fix this tank - it's an absolute mess, but I'll sleep on it and figure something out by next weekend. I saw him try and eat a blue ram just before. Hilarious!
