  1. It spreads like wildfire if you injure or heavens forbid pop it. RODI water and controlling the nutrient supply with a powerful skimmer is your best bet.
  2. Went again today, and all I can say is -
  3. I would. Has it been used?
  4. I'm sure they will swap it for a jager / fluval.
  5. If I didn't have all my fish, I'd trade my tank for the one above! Don't want that person's fish though. I'd stock it differently.
  6. Well I have a tank without a lid or any thing and I run a pump / powerhead causing a lot of ripples on the surface and the tank stays really cool. Kinda like running a fan on the top, but this way you move the water because it's pretty unlikely for the air to stay 100% stagnant.
  7. I hate them. I've had to return dozens of them because they fill with water and the others over heat ranging from 32 - 38C when set at 26C on the dial. You are best off with a jager or a real fluval.
  8. :tears: That's awful man! Maybe you guys with tanks overheating should get a wavemaker and point it along the surface of the water creating ripples all along the top?
  9. I would love to keep an eel. But that would be mean I think, so I couldn't do it. I have a tank for a koura though - and it stays cool.
  10. I think I'm going to have nightmares tonight. :nilly:
  11. DROOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL !drool: !drool: !drool: !drool: !drool: !drool: I shall have.
  12. My tank stays at 30. Haven't had to meddle with the tank or heater in any way. It's in the kitchen though.
  13. Stop saying silly things then! How am I supposed to know what tone you mean it in?
  14. I can do 50% WCs + gravel vacs on 23 tanks in 2 hours :nilly: You get used to it after a while. I take my time with my tank  Just is. Did a WC + prune this afternoon as well. Water goes out, water goes in. Prune just before you top the water up. :dunno:
  15. Soooo I got bored and decided to go and play around in the Turitea stream out at Massey. There isn't a huge amount of life in the water there, but I did see what I thought was either a trout or a tench. Then i kept exploring, saw an eel, played with it for a while and then went to find another one. Here's some pics - Yes, that is a rat. Newest friend, don't think she liked me very much, but was none the less quite happy. Love the natural riverine arrangement of stones. Quite inspiring. Snake! :nilly: jk  PS- Maybe this will make the pneumonia better Stella.
  16. You'll need heaps of money to have heaps of kids.... heaps of money = good job.
  17. You don't just get rid of an animal joe - especially one like a dog that will be attached to its owners.
  18. Saturated solution will do, but boiling is the best bet for those things that won't melt.
