  1. Remove the lead plates if you haven't already done so. Good luck.
  2. For quietness - Eheims win, but overall most Fluvals have more bang for buck.
  3. Hey Joe, that's not willow moss. I don't know what it is, but it is definitely not willow moss. If you look closely you will see the difference between the two mosses.
  4. pH 7 ish. Definitely not acidic, but a few shells hidden in the filter won't go amiss.
  5. A powerglo will be a HO tube. Don't bother doing it without the appropriate ballast.
  6. Lol. I like orandas, Ryus and a few others. Water has settled today, and I added 5 mussels as well. The goldfish are so darn hard to take pics of! It's crazy!
  7. Ah yeah, that's them. If only I had a tank to justify them!
  8. I would like a Ryukin or two! But I can't find any of the ones I sold when I lived in AKL!
  9. Much better thanks! I used my point and shoot, so no shooting in RAW for me.
  10. Congrats! Albino fish babies look so cool! Good luck raising them.
  11. Thanks! They just look so happy sifting around in the sand. I can't wait for the heads to develop.
  12. These are those puffy head ones eh?
  13. Their names are Aakash, Tom, Dennis and Michael! Then the last one is twiddle de dee.
  14. But they are named all of us in the house! Well all of us and one other person that does not like goldfish.
  15.
  16. If I remember / recall correctly.
  17. Definitely under 20C! No heater in this tank :nilly: The val in this tank has been sitting outside in a 'pond' like thing for the best of a year and a half now with some other 'tropical' plants that will be on the high risk plants too. Nah goldfish came from a store. They all have names too! The root structure has been in the tank for months now and the fish seem ok with it; but it's a relatively large tank and if it causes them problems it'll have to go.
  18. Ok, here goes. Just got back from Himitangi Beach with driftwood and sand so the tank is still quite murky, but it will settle soon. Lighting is 1x 18000K powerglo T8 (3ft). PS- car also got stuck in the sand so we had to dig it out  it was a fun day that's for sure. (Can someone PS this pic and remove the glare from the flash that makes it too yellow?)
  19. Bored? Dwarves will be fine in that tank.
  20. I'm never having kids. Ever. Congrats though, you must be thrilled.
  21. I wouldn't do it. They are best kept in species tanks and have very unique and specific dietary requirements.
  22. I like it too. Nice selection of plants.
