    That is more or less how a powerglo works. It is not really 18000K, which is why it's more correct to say '18000K powerglo' and not an 18000K tube which strictly speaking it isn't.

    Ripples! You need a MH for them. Then there's price and availability. I think I'd still stagger MHs and T5VHOs in sequence over a marine tank, but I haven't ever used LEDs.

    With LED you probably could, but with incandescent you couldn't.

    Yes, Stella had told me about it ages ago, and I'm sure I mentioned it after that somewhere. Not sure if it was here or somewhere else though. I have them going in my poly box pond things where I grow those plants to see if they can really clear up water. They should get heaps of food in there, and then I put them in the tank. Apparently they can live for 30-50 years so I'll be interested to see if any one has actually kept them alive in a proper tank for ages.

    You can get LEDs now, which cost a lot more, but are far cheaper to run. The MH still has it's pros though.

    A few of us usually give them away for free on here, and if they sell; they will seldom do so for more than $5 a pup or thereabouts. HFF does get the odd red lotus in so maybe there was just a mixup this time.

    I don't think I would put 5 in a 20L tank, but 3 might be better. Maybe 4 if you make it an absolute jungle.

    The Eheim pads will be closer to the $40-50 mark. Have you tried spotlight for coarse sponge? you'll have to cut it and replace it more often.

    Could also be that as a general rule 2 puffers is 1 puffer too many. Keep them in a larger group. Maybe 5 or so.

    A 620T has great lights for medium light plants. So not glosso etc, but most other will grow in there with no problems at all. Just remember to add ferts as well, and CO2 if you want to maximise growth.

    Tey make awesome planted tanks with a few dwarf American cichlids and tetras. That is a fair price too.

    Nah, just put em on and see what happens. 8 hours a day at first but keep up the ferts and CO2. Have an excess of ferts in the water at all times.

    Furry one is ambullia. The leafy one in the centre is water sprite. One on the right is Hygro stricta.
