  1. Nah man.. not yet. In time I'll get something up and running. Calcium reactors are expensive these days!
  2. Google it for now Joe. I intend to do a write up of how to assemble the whole lot together (with some help I'm hoping) and also send Caryl an article. :slfg: I shall take pictures and do a step by step guide when I get the whole lot.
  3. Tonic or a solution of meth blue on the eye directly. I would put acriflavine + formalin in the water.
  4. Can I do it? What you need is a jungle! :happy2: *hides under table.
  5. No!! That's how it is. Go have a look on plantedtank! Some of us can just manage to get our fish and plants to look naturally vibrant Have fun with those ferts haha.
  6. I wouldn't want to be ingesting a cytotoxic venom.
  7. They are much better than what I have / will be getting. No link to a timer. It will be from the warehouse. Same one as your average light timer.
  8. 2kg will be better than 88g. A needle valve regulates CO2 flow. I'll just use a normal timer for my CO2. It will come on 30 mins before the lights come on and go off when the lights go off.
  9. http://cgi.ebay.com/CO2-regulator-solenoid-magetic-valve-control-/250621512666?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a5a34cbda - That's all I got. Up here it costs about $50-60 to certify and attach the correct nozzle onto a CO2 fire extinguisher or other suitable CO2 bottle. They had brand new 5kg Cylinders for sale @$295 each. The company's name is National Gas; so maybe you have a branch relatively local to you. It costs $7/kg for CO2 when you refill a cylinder, so the Fluval CO2 devices are not worth it in my opinion. The $200 you are going to spend on the Fluval kit can be spent on a smaller CO2 fire-extinguisher. Once it's certed, it'll be cheaper to run and will cost you less. The only thing that will cost more is the regulator + solenoid (linked above). That's about NZD $100 over what ever else you spend.
  10. About $220 all up I think. By upgrade I mean replace the tubes with plant pros.
  11. It's mine. I just got it re-certed and then filled up. Total cost was $80. Bought the cylinder off a member from here. I have all the other bits and pieces, and am just waiting on the arrival of my regulator now. I might upgrade my lights soon too.
  12. I'm going to go and fill up my new 10kg CO2 bottle! !drool: !drool: !drool:
  13. I lie. It's not an H7 but an H20. The flash on my H3 blew and it was cheaper to buy a new H20 than it was to repair the flash, so I got the new camera instead. It's got more features and all, but the H3 was great. It did what I told it to do
  14. You see when you're higher off the ground like I am; balancing on slippery rocks whilst not wearing shoes is quite difficult. Can't believe you guys were waiting for me to fall in!
  15. Post your pics! Here's windelov (pic taken today)- Will hopefully update with pics of a possible windelov X Narrow leaf.
  16. That was Clarry the cockatoo. Pink galah was actually quite cute; luckily you didn't have your stick with you!
  17. Don't forget to thank the bird for leaving you alive jim.... :sml1:
  18. Water changes every 2-3 weeks? I'd do them once a week at minimum if you are having problems.
  19. I miss my H3. It was great. I now have an H7, but the H3 was better IMO.
  20. Well now that I am back home and happy as ever I would like to thank the BFRC for an amazing few days! The team really pulled together to make the last few days a true success! A special thanks to Nymox and Bigbossplants for the hospitality; and thanks to Bigbossplants for welcoming me into her home and herding me around everywhere! Thanks to Mark for humouring me as I found interesting living "rocks" as we founds stuff in the rock pools. Now I suppose all I can do is sit back and await the numerous embarrassing photographs!
