  1. You wouldn't need it, but you will find a marked improvement if you did have it.
  2. Yep pretty normal... they're not even Peruvians which are the closest to the real altum that we can get. Peruvians are pretty though.
  3. I see the appeal of having large fish. But I personally want a tank to look pretty; have substrate, plants, good lights and a good mix of fish.
  4. If the fry are free swimming it shouldn't be too much of an issue. New borns will get devoured though.
  5. Gah! :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears: Can someone from the WAC help?
  6. I woke up after a late night; got ready watched 'The F word' which is a Gordon Ramsay cooking show; then went out and went shopping.... :slfg: $450+ extras later.... Then I went to Animates and checked up on the lists and the cardinals and came home without spending any more money. Reached home, did a WC on the goldfish tank, mixed up some micro ferts for 'the-obstacle' and bottled it in a wine bottle; following which I cut some potatoes and kumara and seasoned them before cooking dinner a few hours later. Then I saw the movie - 3 days later (I think that's what it's called) and then went and cooked dinner and spent ages reducing the red wine glaze for the chicken. Then i ate food; exercised for a bit and sat down and relaxed with my bottle of wine. :slfg: *hick! Now, im watching TV with the other half of the bottle of wine. :spop:
  7. Beautiful fish, but he almost makes that tank look small! Looks fantastic though.
  8. That sounds like a good deal. I'm happy to do that. Was he going to the conference?
  9. :an!gry No! But plants! You want plants. And nice fish.
  10. Glosso may not grow under that light but it's worth a shot to try out any how. As for the other plants - those lights are adequate.
  11. I never medicate for the sake of medicating. But having said that if I am ever in doubt about a certain fish or plant - I never ever put it in my tank. Also - NGAWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Pff... haha if I was there he'd be taking a tank home especially for them. :sml1:
  13. $3 each aren't they? Go get some more. Just saw a whole lot at animates with black phantoms. The combination of the 2 fish looks terrible
  14. Hi all! Is anyone going from Hamilton (or through) to Tauranga weekend of the conference (Queens birthday weekend)? I have a CO2 cylinder that desperately needs a ride!
  15. Also - hoplo catfish. NEED to have them in that tank. If Falkor is in there, that's a bichir (albino).
  16. Welcome and enjoy your time here.
  17. Your kind of heavily planted or my kind of heavily planted. Remember you said my fish were pressed up against the glass. :tears:
  18. Oh these are proper pretty albino ones! So have you planned showing me some local tanks / shops on the weekend of the conf? :slfg: :rotf:
