    American Tank

I don't know much about growing java fern as i have hopeless luck growing it. but I know that the roots are not supposed to be buried in the gravel. I have my tank filled all the way up. like all the way so you can't see the gap between the top and the water level. have you rethought your choice of fish? what do you want in the tank now?
  4. I love the stand! did you make it yourself? PS- nice tank too, and nice oscars :bounce:
  5. yes it will. infact i can go as far as to say, it will relish that tetra, and any others it can get when the lights are out. nom nom nom :-?

  8. live food? quite sad. but such is the nature of the world we live in. the context of the "catch" has a lot to be desired for... that cat reminds me of one of the ones I "found" as a kid. :-?
  9. most people don't really need melafix. then there's the theory that it doesn't actually work  You're better off with stress coat.

  14. we need to know what sort of light and substrate, and plants. pics would really help too.
  15. couple of cap fulls of melafix in a 10 L bucket, about 3/4 way full with a cap of formalin. It normally gets changed everyday. well.. it gets changed when I go in the store any how lol
  16. melafix is one product used by different fish keepers with varying results. it helps in the regeneration, and healing of open wounds, cuts, burns and similar in fish. It DOES NOT dechlorinate water. stress coat on the other hand is primarily a dechlorinator - but also helps in building up the slimy coating that fish have. its great to use on fish when they have scratches, cloudy eye, burns, cuts etc. I think its far better than any thing else on the market, and i personally use it too - and you cannot overdose on stress coat. its also the more holistic approach to solving fishy problems. In a commercial environment, I use melafix and formalin in a hot water solution, and keep the shops fish nets in. that stops nasties from spreading from tank to tank, and with a lot of tanks nothing is worth taking the risk. plus melafix makes the fish area smell all nice lol. HTH
  17. wow~! who taught you that? °
  18. yes. I think it may have been in one of the lower tanks - no one ever looks there  and if you do... you get rewarded  :bounce:
  19. naah another one. he is almost platinum - but has blue spots on him, and then there is another bright light blue one with colourless fins. $20 aye? looks like the stock takes will be out again   I think it should be about $30, so you did get a bargain. :bounce:
  20. what is all this talk about rabbit food? vegetarian? (im hoping this chicken was a vegetarian too actually) I'd send you some in the post mystic, but i think the package would go missing in the post
