you get some red pellets in some pet shops. looks like large cichlid hikari pellets.

I had a rena that lasted me about 9 years. konked out last year i think. still works, but the thermostat is no longer accurate. best heater i ever had. calibrated to 0.5 of a degree, and what it said was what it heated to.

Thank god. I was not at all impressed to see tanks with no corals in them :lol: and that poor clown pressing himself up against the glass to hide . I would even have gone and bought an anemone for him. every clown must have an anemone

that planted tank link in the -plants section that i posted is massive- but has angels and discus in it. ive also kept them with no probs, but depends on the angels really, as long as its placid, and you keep those WC's up I would keep them together If i had to (I certainly have done in the past). depends on you though amy... what did you want to do?

If you want to stop the nibbling on the plants, or chewing on the tails of other fish get more of them and then they tend to stick to them selves. it takes a bit of experimenting really. ive had some tiger, ruby and rosy barbs that never harmed plants or even long finned fish like fighters etc. Also ruby barbs look v.similar to tiger barbs minus the red, and they stay smaller and tend to be more placid.

mostly. they are usually reasonably priced though. I recently got one of the (circular clip) impellor covers for a 405, and it cost just under $20 I think.

yes. Cl's are great, as are dwarf chain loaches (they will look nicer in your discus community tank). :bounce:

the odd one has been known to pop up as your normal veil tail in nz. I think i had a red one who was about 12-13cm long and v fat. Not 100pc sure if he was a true giant though.

push the poly against the tank, and then push the tank against the wall. so you then have wall, poly, tank - all tightly packed.

somehow I think your new puffers will take more care of them than you will :lol:. I didnt even know golden snails ate plants. I thought they ate algae.

make your own sump out of warehouse plastic bins if your tank is large enough. :bounce:

see pet shop tanks will always have lots of red spots in them. things that go on behind the scenes - WC's every day, controlled feeding, Gravel Vacs every 2 days, nets in and out of the tanks throughout the day disrupting the fish, lots of filtration. we cant tell you what to do, and we all hope that you will as you have said, either get a bigger tank, or re home them when the time comes. Im just a little taken aback with what you were told about how they would not out grow your tank for 2 years. I get mine about the same size, and they usually get to about 6 inches within 5-6 months at most. and in a 4 ft tank, that's when i pass them on -so they can grow well and have a nice sail fin like the real good ones should. wish you the best of luck with your fishies
