  12. killies  and those awesome threadfin rainbows.
  13. having plants in the tank decreases the "stress" on your filters. It in no way increases your bio load. I wouldn't think that you could put those many in there as a long term solution. Perhaps some of the more experienced betta keepers would like to answer, I've always bought the best bettas and bred the odd one or two - but always killed them eventually (dropsy-> overfeeding).
  14. oh. 22L? you may be able to get away with it then. is he going to be the only fish in that tank?
  15. if you are very keen on the DIY CO2 idea, and are sure you will make one - PM me your details if you like, and ill send you a bottle cap with the tube attached to it, that you will need to screw onto a pepsi bottle or similar and then presto! DIY CO2 ready to go!
  16. if it cooks, cleans, and nags least you can take comfort from knowing you have a volume control button.
  17. he is making a goldfish food, from what he tells me. still im sure he will be happy to know specifics on what is good for goldfish.
  18. use a filter. always. its just safer. in the ideal world you would not need one, but lets face it. everyone gets lazy and misses the odd waterchange, and before you realise it... its too late.
  19. 24? do not panic. they will be fine. adjust the temp to 26 today and then 28 tomorrow. if you keep them at 30 normally - change it to 30 the day after that.
  20. all you wanted to know about growing plants in the aquarium can be found in the plants and technical section of this forum. its amazing  :bounce:
  21. turns out her friend is my friend too, lol  the food needs to be "sustainable" environmentally.
  22. you killed my precious babies? I just drain the tank with a pipe from one end - the water goes onto the back deck. Then when about a third of the tank has drained - i shove another pipe in the tank from the other end and turn on the tap. water keeps draining, and filling, and then when it fills up i remove the water out pipe and turn off the tap. WC done. my tank gets water very violently sprayed into it.
  23. straight into the gravel. with good lighting, and water ferts - and perhaps some DIY CO2 the plants will establish well, and then the fish poo should act as ferts after a while. I love the convinced of liquid ferts.
