  1. Well Done!! Will keep my fingers, toes and eyes crossed you have better luck this time round
  2. Hope your gba recovers Did you mince the ox heart right down to the same consistency as bloodworms or finer as this way fish of all sizes can digest it easier?...I did this and all my fish plus the bristlenoses are fine after having numerous feeds of ox heart and garlic.
  3. What a bummer Lauren BUT you have the right attitude so better luck next time
  4. Also remember Yosemite Sam, Pepe Lepeu. Daffy Duck (suffering suckatash) , Bugs Bunny (eh whats up doc) and Pppporky Pig (that's all folks)
  5. I remember Kimba The White Lion, Gigantor, The Wombles, Dick Dastardly & Mutly, The Wacky Racers, The Jetsons, Yogi & Booboo, Thunderbirds and WHAT was the name of the big rooster who strutted round saying :I Say I say boy, just wait one cotton pickin moment" and Yipty Dipty Doo Dar Day"?? Lmao

  8. :bounce: :bounce: A big THANK YOU for the beef/ox heart recipes. I made some up 3 days ago and after only 2 feeds aswell as the usual bloodworm, flake, microworms I'm sure the colour is bought out more in all the fish in my community tank. I also had one tank recovering from a bout of Ich and am sure the garlic in the mix has especially helped my 2 surviving clown loaches :bounce: :bounce: I used the basic recipe of trimming the fat and sinnew of the outside of one ox heart then chopping into small chunks and adding this along with about 1 teaspoon of crushed garlic and about 6 tablespoons of water to a blender and pulsing until it all minced down to about the same consistency as bloodworms. I'd kept some empty bloodworms containers so squished mixture into this and what was left over have put into a little tupperware container and will just slice off bits when I need it. My fish went more nuts over this than bloodworms/microworms so I guess the proof is there THANKS AGAIN!!!! :bounce:
  9. Hi Elaine Kind of guessing this tank is being set up at a school so cost could be a factor in what fish you put in it and something the kids can interract with would be better...is this correct? If so and it's going to be a community tank, I can give you some guppies and some plants I don't have a car so if you know someone who can pick them up, they're yours And perhaps others here on the forum have fish they'd like to donate...nothing like getting the younger generations interested in fish
  10. Welcome Mac I'm also fairly new to the forum and have found a very helpful, friendly group of people here...hope you find the same What types of fish do you keep?
  11. Virgil....Sad about your gourami. Did you see that Guvnor007 has dwarf gourami on his list of fish he's selling before he moves overseas, maybe you can get some playmates for your lonely male
  12. Probably a dumb newby question lol  but can ox/beef heart/garlic mix be given to all fish in community tank or just bigger fish? I have clown loaches, male siamese fighter, guppies, mollies, corys, bristlenose, platys and killies.

  16. Thx mr pleco...really just asking at this stage, there's no hurry at all sorry the better question would probably be how old/big do the fry need to be before they can comfortably be added to a community tank? My community tank has clown loaches, gourami, tetras, guppies, mollies and 1 male siamese fighter.
  17. I have some bronze cory fry that are abut 6 weeks old and approx 1.5cms....being a newby I'm not sure if these are big/old enough to add to my community tank yet??
  18. Good Luck!! Look foward to seeing more photos as tank progresses
  19. Hahaha good adaption on the lipstick on a pig theory Livingart. Reckon the general concensus from most and also the most obvious solution would be to "COVER YOUR TANK" My cat must be too well fed coz he just sits on a stool I have in front of the tank and watches the fish
  20. Oops!! I meant to copy and paste this link http://www.wetwebmedia.com/alkprods.htm
