  1. Put a piece of fusewire through. Run it around the pane Worked for me
  2. They require a vector, the tiny ones stick to bird feathers when they drink from water with daphnia in it, and let go when the feathers next come into contact with water
  3. This is one of the best trademe listing I have seen      Listing number 223309871
  4. Probably not, but I can take things as far as gisborne, just thought I would offer
  5. I'm going from Palmerston North to Tauranga and then to Gisborne after my exams finish at the end of this month I will be in Gis for a week, and then go to Taradale for a week, then back to Palmy If anyone needs anything transported that way, let me know I also plan to stop in at Livingart :bounce: I wont be able to keep fish in Gisborne, so can't take any from BOP to HB, and probably can't keep them in Taradale, will depend on type of fish
  6. It depends on the water you have I once forgot to put conditioner in a 10L bucket full going into a 150L tank. almost instantly, about 10 guppies were doing this: This video was taken about an hour after adding the chlorinated water, when they were starting to slow down and die I always put water conditioner in, unless its rainwater And yet I know people over the other side of Palmy that don't use anything and they are fine
  7. They look good. How big are the pellets?
  8. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 544409.htm Has anyone tried these? Are they any good? Did anyone have any problems with them? TIA
  9. Wow a 6 foot giant kokopu I think you meant 5-6"
  10. the tank is now 23 degrees The bristlenose and brown hap are fine the male firemouth is swimming around on its side on the bottom, occasionally getting upright Everything else is dead - 1 firemouth, 2 angels and 8 cockatoos (and 2 sets of wrigglers they had have died two)
  11. I just looked at one of my tanks and the heater has been unplugged all night All but two maybe three fish appear to be dead The temp was 12 degrees. I did a warm water change and brought it up to 15 I have put some extra heaters in the tank too. Is there anything else I can do to help my fish survive? It was a growout tank for my young fish, it had 8 cockatoos, 2 angels, a bristlenose, a young pair of firemouths and a brown hap in it (tank is divided). the brown hap and the bristlenose are still swimming around, so should be ok. All the other fish are on their sides. One of the firemouths is still slowly breathing and moving his pectoral fin. one of the cockatoos is breathing too. None of the other fish have shown any sign of life yet
  12. Cant really see from the angle of the photo, the upper and lower jaws of the giant are the same length Stella will know for sure
  13. does it have an undershot jaw? - top lip ends further forward than the bottom lip?
  14. Just how Dixon likes it That is an impressive fish How long is she?
  15. You could just shear it like a sheep. I have used a shearing handpiece on a dog before and they worked fine (it had a deep gash in its chest that I wanted to clean up properly). I have also used a shearing handpiece on sheep, goats, cattle even an alpaca
  16. I saw a kid in the napier aquarium that was bouncing a golf ball off the tanks some people have NO idea - make sure you have a good safety factor
  17. I don't think they're altums either, but I don't think it is a peruvian
  18. Doesn't look like a peruvian, Phoenix. The ones I had had little black flecks on their sides, less colour and skinnier but longer fins. I didn't like them so sold them. Your one looks EXACTLY like some Robin sold me as altums, but I have since been told are not. One of mine has a crooked back too :-? It's free if anyone wants it - looks exactly like the one in the picture and is a definite female
