  1. Your ISP should allow you to have multiple addresses - give their helpdesk a call.
  2. My tank gets up to 28 deg C on hot days - baseline is 24.5. The fish don't seem to mind. I was talking to Mark at World of Water about this last weekend. He had a good point that it might not necessarily be high temps, but the degree of change that could stress fish - it might pay to increase your tank temp to reduce the variance? Advise is supplied as is, where is...
  3. I'm in Ham too, and yep, the tap water is pretty high in phosphate. The phosphate level in my planted tank is higher after a water change I'm getting a bit of brown algae at the moment, I think it's a combination of phosphate and the sun hitting the tank for an hour or two first thing in the morning.
  4. Well, it's not like you called it beer or anything, so no worries
  5. Write down details names dates, contact numbers etc, whenever you have contact with any medical professional. Keep notes of discussions and educate yourself via the internet so you know what questions to ask. There's probably an on-line support group for your condition out there somewhere too, could be useful. If you don't already have one, get a good GP. Ask around, it's important to have a good open relationship with this person A friend was recently diagnosed with sarcoidosis and helping him deal with the local DHB has been an eye opener. After telling him he had a 90% chance it was cancer, they finally diagnosed it correctly four weeks after he was first admitted. Now he's getting his notes lost by various specialists, check-ups repeatedly cancelled with no notice, calls not returned, and a complete lack of any coordination between the various hospital departments. Thankfully his GP is going in to bat against the DHB in order to get some action. Good luck anyways
  6. This is reaching, but when I did IT at a polytech we had to include Maori as a language pack within Microsoft Office, it was a govt directive. That's all I got, sorry :-?
  7. Awesome looking tank, what's the variegated plant?
  8. My brain hurts now! I'll post a pic when I get home. Thanks guys
  9. Said runner doth possess an aspect that is pleasing to mine eye. Methinks nature shall run her course. Some of the upper plantlets are partially emersed, will they be OK when immersed again?
  10. Umm, green ones? No idea, sorry Thanks for the help, I'll repost when they are ready for a new home.
  11. The most aggro fish I've had was a Red Tailed Black Shark. It was fine in a small community tank, but became a little hitler when he was moved to my big tank.
  12. Hiya - my swords have sent out runners to the surface, and the runners have little swords growing along them. How long should I wait before trying to plant the babies? I'll be giving them away if anyone's keen...
  13. Bolivian Rams are great dwarf cichlids in a community tank, to answer your question in the 1st post. They don't like loaches much as the loaches tend to gobble wrigglers

  16. You can see it online here: http://www.aucklandmuseum.com/Default.asp?t=913
  17. I was careful to remove as much as possible, but I still got an overnight spike. I suspect I had a lot of cyano in my substrate...
  18. you can still get a toxic spike when all the Cyano dies off at once. Happened to me on the third day after using Ethrowhatsamcallit, lost some fishies . Did get rid of the Cyano though It was the bigger fish that perished, lower gill to body mass ratio?
  19. I reckon Suphew is on the money. It's a little odd that someone from a foreign country with no posting history goes to in bat for a company. This is someone who's paid to web-search and defend his client where (in)appropriate, and the admins should act accordingly, IMHO of course
  20. Actually, Windows has dropped to below 90% market share for personal computers for the first time since 1995. OS X and Linux are slowly but surely eroding M$'s market share. All Linus! http://www.computerworld.com/action/art ... rc=hm_list : :
  21. 1-2 times a day, although I might cut back to once a day after reading other peoples comments. A mix of flake, crumbles, and the occasional algae wafer. Bloodworms once a week as a treat. Anyone else noticed the Nutrafin flake containers have a convex dome in the bottom - you get less food than you'd think. Is this a typical sneaky rip-off ploy, or does it prevent the flakes in the bottom getting crushed up?
  22. www.dpreview.com for good reviews and forums. I have to disagree with Ira, if you're willing to spend between $1200 and $1800 for a DSLR kit, you'll get awesome results with the lenses included. They take much nicer photos than a good point 'n click digital camera - no comparison really, IMHO I think it's better to buy something you can grow into. Get a how-to book or look locally for a evening class, and you'll be surprised how quickly you start taking decent photos.
  23. Have they blocked anonymous proxies, like http://www.youhide.com ? That way the traffic all appears to come from the anonymous proxy, not the dodgy site you're actually surfing to If they audit your PC you could still be in trouble, unless you clear your cookies and cache, etc...
