    Hello :)

Hi there Chantal, Welcome to the forum. I am very close to you at West Melton.CHCH. heaps or information on here. Enjoy. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
  13. Sorry to hear about your Oscar, Gee wouldnt have thought it would have fit in its mouth. Borneo tigers look as they have a little mouth. Its a learning game for us all, as some fish are ok in tanks with others some are not. Bad temperment comes with even the little ones. I had a male Malwai eye bitter who wanted to eat every thing in his tank. (only a baby too) got rid of it, got another one,(large male, ) he swims with every thing no problems.it was just a fish with bad attuide, (like many of us people),
  14. Thats great Wok. Congrats. When my breeding pair had there 1st lot I lost them all up pump. Did learn from that. The growth rate of those wee guys are quick compared to many other fish. enjoy.
  15. My adults get feed twice a day but my babies get feed at least 5 times a day. Mel what is the homemade frozen food you make? Keen to add any thing new to their diet.
  16. Wow wicked colours. They are a credit to you.
  17. At moment it is 3ft until i know how good it eats its food. Then into 4ft, then 6ft.(Depends on its growth size to how fast it moves into bigger tank. ) do have room for bigger tank but might have to get a divorce before that happens. Plan is to down size smaller tank a replace with big ones.   thanks for your input everyone, so exciting. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
  18. thanks David. It does already eat pellets( lucky me). Made sure of that. I have read heaps of information on these fish but some times the message gets mixed by others on the net. i would sooner ask the people in the know on here. What fish do you have with your David? I am looking forward to the big boy growing old with me. Or should say me being a old girl with a young fish  my kids are aready fighting who will take this when i die  at least with 8 kids i should get at least one to take it on when i have gone. so exciting really. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
  19. Yes I have done heaps of reading of these fish. I wanted one for ages but never took the plunge. so buzzed with my wee fellow. I have seen heaps of adults aro's down here in the South with tanks full of discus mates. I personally like the look but not keen to take the chance of chop chop my discus. do many others have theirs with discus. Yes Spoon downsizing Africans tooooooooooooo many tanks for my house. or should i say toooooo many little tanks, so out with little tanks. in with big now. the aro has given me the excuse to go big. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
  20. Just purchased a 3mths silver Aro. Approx- 10cm. I am new to these awesome fish. What tank mates work well for them?
  21. Just keep an eye on the eel. Some times fish with sucker mouths latch onto them.ie-plecos could have been healing. Do you have any thing like that in your tank?

    Greetings!

hi there and welcome to the forum.
  23. Very awesome colour for them just settling in to tank. Just awsome. I started with a few runts a while ago (given to me ,and learnt about the water conditions, the hard way, all dying off, one by one  ) and they got me, the addiction moves on fast. now have 30 babies from top quality fish also two now breeding pairs. Not worth doing all the work for runts. You will get great enjoyment growing up but more of a buzz when they breed for you. Enjoy and do please keep us updated.
  24. Wicked photos and colours of those aro's. The more see themthe more i want one. thank you for sharing these awesome photos with us.
  25. I never have had much luck with my white worms always seem to kill them off. Too wet or to dry.
