  2. Thanks for your replies everyone. I have to say breeding my angels a few years ago wasnt as rewarding as seing these little babies free swimming. Both pairs are now in a breeding tank each. I am hoping the others here start to pair up. so i can have a sort out as have many babies growing up (purchased from others). Poor africans getting pushed aside for awhile.
  3. How many can you have in a tank together? dont they kill off the others?
  4. Well yumyum both pairs ate up babies. That was good as now will put the both pairs in their own tanks today(one pair per tank). so next time we all will be ready. Thanks to all who replied to my asking for advice
  5. Navarre- if all the discus start breeding at once I might take you up on your offer, Discusguru- you said put in 2ft with parents, bit hard to do that as they all swimming on parents. I would kill them if netted them together wouldnt I.? Today 1st day swimming with parents. So how long after would I move them. Hate to kill them. MysticVampyre- Thanks for you well wishers. Just buzzin. might have to buy more tanks.LOL. I have 2nd pair in another tank 3 days behind these ones.(but they ate their 1st lot).
  6. I have 2 paired up discus with babies. (Colbolt Blue pair & Blue Diamond pair). My 1st time breeding pair have now got the babies moved onto them. So exciting. Was wondering when they are to be taken off the parent? Also they are in a community planted tank. Should I move them? If so when? I have read not to muck around with the tank. I also put a glass between them and the others so they not hasseled all the time. (did that last week). Any help gratefully accepted. Cheers

  18. Ira said. " Where is there? My Auntie went to Conception Bay, it is in St. John. In New Findland. (We on this side pronounce it New Foundland). Livingart is correct Inuit is a subtribe of Indians. Eskimo is the common group name. Like Maori with all the sub tribes. We here in NZ always have younger people trying to make a name for them selves by stirring up trouble and this girl is just another one of these. To all the people that know me and have been to my house will see around the many fish tanks, many Indian heads (not real  ) statues and items from my Grandmother passed down to us. Thank you to all who replied to this thread. Your wisdom about a silly subject is correct. Next time you eat a Eskimo lollie enjoy it. As we all did as kids eating a Eskimo pie, they were get ice-creams too. Have a great day. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
  19. To all the people out there , you have a Inuit in your forum :bounce: :bounce: . My great grandfather was one, he traveled to NZ and married. The woman in question was a younger chick with a idea if she caused trouble she would make a name for herself.  Rubbish . My Auntie traveled there 5 years ago and was treated like a queen as none of our familes have returned. (My Grandad is a local legened,as the boy who never returned). The Inuit people are a very humble people and I think they would think it is a honour to have a lollie named after them on the other side of the world. I know I am very proud of my Inuit heritage. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. 8) Gave me a laugh.   I might even go out and buy a big packet today to celebrate my heritage. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

  22. Hi there Lucy, I know the stress you went through with your tank breaking, My 6ft tank blew out its bottom Easter weekend, it has been running for 2 years but decided to crack across the corner. Didnt lose any fish but hell the stress as the water flowing out over the floor and hell where are the fish going. panic. panic. just as well i have MTS or may have been in trouble. Since then have checked the metal fancy stand. Out it goes, think that was the trouble, so now getting made a solid wooden stand. hopefully it will never happen again. Just as well it wasnt my new one that arrived in weekend so they will go in that soon. Please dont give up with your fish keeping, it is a very rewarding hobby. Good luck with sorting out you faulty tanks.
