Welcome to th forums Ras. :bounce: Fish keeping is very rewarding what ever you deciede. Have a good look around before you make up your mind. as many options are out there. If you decied on a fish look it up on internet before you buy to make sure the fish you want to purchase will fit into your new set up. ie- temperment, water conditions, etc.

    ID please??

Haplochromis Livingstoni.- African cichlid. Eats a variety of foods including small fishes, they are known for playing dead until small prey comes by. Very striking fish. Male gets a blue hue and the camo colours seem lighter. Female stays the same as ones in your picture. I have owned and breed these great fish. They are easy to breed.

On the job front, many work places are still blaming the resession so easy way to put people off. Its so they dont have to pay out holiday pay. our son was laid off too. Its dam poor. ( Im sure there will be a better job around the corner for you). But keep your chin up. 3 more days and you will start a new year and leave all the bad luck behind. Best wishers to you and your family for 2010.

    Hiding Discus

Nice looking discus. Are they in a high traffic area why they hide alot.? I have a tank in a high traffic area so i put a carboard end to stop them getting frights. I have little babies who are only very tiny and they all dive to glass to see me every time i go near them.My older discus go hide when other people walk up to them. They always do if i walk up fast. Try walking up to them slowly so they dont flit off. Hope this helps.
