  1. im planning to use some on my marine build they are cheap on fish street i believe they work well and last quite a long time with rinsing them out every now and then
  2. perhaps shellies , im not sure if the tank is big enough though

organism has an ar 380 set up as a nano perhaps email them([email protected]) they have had great success with it , i personally wouldnt bother with coral rubble a few nice bits of live rock will do it, id use purigen in the top filter and a nano wave maker like this http://www.fish-street.com/resun_mini_wave_maker_pump?category_id=35 i wouldnt bother with a skimmer as the small hob ones rarely work well and the pump will add extra heat to the tank. in summer you may find some pc fans and put them on the filter ( take cover off) id just leave them running all the time (unless you want to buy a temp controller) these should help the temp from getting too high but you will lose a lot of water due to evap will need to be topped up daily as it will affect the salinity quite a bit in such a small tank. you can make a cheap ato unit with a float switch and 12v dc water pump should cost least than $15 shipped from ebay all up (will need to get a 12v transformer from somewhere though) this will take the hassle out of daily topping up
  8. the more you feed the more waste , i dont feed that often every few days is enough ,id feed more if i had fish i was trying to grow faster . im slack with waterchanges too so feeding less helps drag them out

it will depend on the skimmer you get also if you use a fan for cooling expect to be topping up a lot an ato system may be the go

yeah i did that for a few months with my tank, much better with a decent skimmer now though. another thing you are going to have to think about shortly with a nano is keeping it cool it will quickly go over temp in summer
  12. hey mate cant help with the room but good to hear from you again its been a while

in a filter or skimmer body , where ver you can fit it that has high flow, it will change from off white to dark brown when its exhausted then it can be regenerated many times by following the instructions so ya dont need to go out and buy a new pouch . a small pouch will last at least a year before it needs re generating in your tank any sooner and you'd know you have problems

wether you decide to use a skimmer or not, go with the purigen
  16. yeah i just want to have fish in it not frogs any more
  17. to give you an idea of the tank here is a thread with some photos of it http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=32010&hilit=frog+tank
  18. try emailing lamp spec http://www.lampspecialists.co.nz/
  19. while archer fish are availible down here from time to time its way to small for one as the water depth is only about 20cm
  20. nice idea but i havent had much luck with whistlers before epecially where there is a lot of water they tend to drown themselves. i will stick to fish of some descripton perhaps even take the front glass off and replace the bottom part with a bigger piece and cut the doors down so i can have the water deeper
  21. yeah id love to try them one day but it may be hard finding brackish plants also finding mudskippers ive never seen them for sale down here. it would quickly turn into a very long project
  22. they would be but im not really interested in finding food for them and all that would much rather have fish, ive kept axies in there before but its a shallow water part so it got too warm for them
  23. do a big water change and chuck some carbon in if ya got any handy
  24. well my last frog passed away yesterday, RIP houdini has hasnt been aeting much last few months and is at least 5 years old so ive put it down to old age :tears: now im left with a 60x60x45 exo terra for the next project. i wont be keeping frogs again i would like to turn it into a paludarium with small fish in the bottom perhaps cpds and pygmy cories or even killifish if they are suitable im not sure how im gunna set it up so looking for ideas , perhaps post a link to a picture of an idea you like id like to have a fogger again and some tropical plants
