A Visit to Ti Point Reptile Park ( lots of photos )

Awesome pics bedazzled I went to Ti Point and goat island a couple of weeks ago aswell and visited the reptile park. They have a huge range of different lizards and ampibians (plus the 2 Capuchin monkeys ) -
haha except I'm going to have a large SA cichlid tank (with some non-cichlid SA tankmates) is the daltons sand sharp or smooth and at what shops is it available?

what sort of sand would you recommend for 4ft SA tank? I was thinking play sand that you can get from bunnings or mitre10. Will it raise my pH and harden my water? your thoughts plz

Those are awesome looking fish I've only ever seen the fully spotty variety tho

There was one or two that "floated" near the surface of the water but they dart away when your hand goes near. They were like you said loosely school, they were spread over and area of about 1m squared. And yes they were definately bullies but I'm sorry to say i cant remember exactly what they looked like. :-?

I've said this before in a past post, but at the edge of Lake Rotoito (which is next to lake taupo) there was a school of bullies. They were schooling loosely and there had to be atleast 70-100 of small to large sized ones.

Yeah I know.. I originally had 5 cories but 2 carked it. I've only ever had the one otto though

Nope, they're loaches I have.. 1x Bristlenose 3x Pygmy Cories 1x Otocinclus I know.. it's a pretty sad collection of catfish..

I've heard what I thought was my chain loaches make a clicking noise when they have started to eat their food quite a few times before. But the other day I remembered to listen carefully for them so I dropped a spirulina tablet in for them and as soon as they started to nibble on the tablet I heard the same clicking noise again. Has anybody heard that aswell and do you know how they make the noise?

damn why do all the good fish have to be down in chch? Does the water conditioner have copper in it?
