  1. I'd have thought you'd have replaced them already if you were going to. I must have contaminated the filter with my procrastination and you caught it.
  2. How big as aurce? I'd imagine it wouldn't be enough to fly in if it's surrounded by oil filter company land. Maybe heils need less area, whatever they are. Hope you're more sober when you fly.
  3. Do you have a sump or need a HOB?
  4. You can get a lot of perfectly workable cheap bits and pieces and cheap planes though. $200 all up for a small plane wouldn't be hard to do if you're ordering from United Hobbies.
  5. If it is the same as that one you won't really be able to transfer any of the radio gear to a new plane. That radio looks like it'll be a 27mhz AM radio like most of the really cheap RTF toy types. I don't know if you can even buy receivers that would work with it. But, if you don't break it straight away it'll be a start until you buy good gear. You may be assuming a bit much with a new, untrimmed plane.
  6. Hmmm, That's pretty good if that's the total price for everything. Does that include batteries and chargers? What radio is it?
  7. Hehe, Yeah, note that "Yet"... It gets really expensive if you have an occasional crash. My first two lipos had a total cost of about $210, first was destroyed in the first flight, second was destroyed in another plane on about the tenth flight. So...Total cost per flight just for batteries? $20. What corsair did you get? GWS corsairs are common and cheap, but all the GWS warbirds are legendarily touchy to fly and usually take a lot of modifications...
  8. There was a one of those tiny moths fluttering around my head... I sniffled a little... I felt it touch my nose at the same time... I can't see the moth flying around anymore...
  9. Planning on going flying in the morning, actually. Managed to repair the brushless motor in my mini ultrastick...Well, appears to be repaired anyway. The P51 mustangs would be a great first plane if you like destroying your money. P51s are touchy even for experienced fliers, you, a total beginner, would probably not even get off the ground without demolishing it. Just about everything on tradem...Err, I mean the site we are not allowed to speak of...that's described as a trainer is almost completely inappropriate as a trainer. Electrics aren't necessarily cheaper, for anything but a small plane they're going to cost quite a bit more. You can get a good nitro engine that will easily fly a 5 foot wingspan balsa for about $200 or less. An equivalent power and endurance system using an electric will cost somewhere around $400 using the cheapest and dirtiest bits. If you want to go electric I'd suggest something like a Multiplex Easystar. They're pretty much indestructable. www.foamworks.co.nz has them. They're an ARF(Almost Ready to Fly) so you'll need to buy your own radio gear to install in it, batteries and charger. Once you're experienced to upgrade you can move the gear to your new plane. If you're willing to accept a nitro plane do a search on the T word site for "AT40 rtf combo" it's got almost everything you'd need to start off. And if you do get a plane, go to your local club, get someone there to fly it and trim it. Even for someone with experience flying a new, out of trim plane can get a bit terrifying...
  10. Sure, takes 3 seconds to put the whole hose in the tank, plug the end and pull it out then replace all the bits and pieces of driftwood you've knocked over if you have the normal 2 foot long. Mine is 20 feet long. Sucking either one takes 2 seconds.
  11. What heat? I've been thinking it's been pretty cool the last couple weeks.
  12. Your local fish shop should have heaps.
  13. Ira

    Longhorn Cowfish

4 foot seems a bit on the small size for a 16" long fish...
  14. Once again, someone gets huge publicity for proving the obvious...
  15. But then we're talking double the price again of either the two CF1200s or single CF2200. And I think I'd probably go for two CF2200 instead of a single FX5 for almost the same price.
  16. Hmmm, It's only about $10 cheaper than a pair of CF1200s. I guess it's really up to your preference. Half the filter maintenance VS having some filter redundancy if one dies.
  17. Hmmm, I'd thought the biggest was the CF1200, Never seen a CF2200. But I'd imagine they would also be acceptable.
  18. Heh, I was going to say two CF1200s too.
  19. Yes. They're generally in the region of $4500 for a baby, if you can find one because there are only a handful of breeding pairs in the country.
  20. Apparently baking soda does lower PH slightly at first, when you add it to the water the carbonate in it creates CO2. But once your airation has outgassed all of that, you're left with the calcium that increases the PH.
  21. It won't drive CO2 out, not exactly. It will just make sure it's closer to in balance with the atmosphere. So, if you have a lot of plants using up a lot of CO2 so the amount in the water is less than that, airation will increase the amount of CO2 in the water.
