At least keep it within +- 2 degrees or so. I refill from the tap, full hot and adjust the cold tap. If the tank is getting too cold I turn the cold tap down, if the tank is getting too hot I turn the cold tap up. Not rocket science. :slfg:

I use angryhosting. $1/month for 1 gig storage and 10 gigs traffic/month IIRC. Just FTP it to the website and link to it. Photobucket might be cheaper, but a friend owns the hosting company and $12/year is nothing.

A lot of the various species have a few bristles on their nose, but yeah, if those dimensions are accurate that is waaaaay to big for any bristlenose.

Yeah, the family IS the fakeness. The ideal christmas would be no family, or only a select few family members combined with a whole bunch of presents magically appearing under the tree. But, since that's not an option, I'd be happy for the whole BS thing to be cancelled, replace it with Summer Vacation. Everyone takes 3-4 weeks off work.

Is it ok to cycle a tank without gravel?

Sure, you don't really need gravel for most fish at all anyway, unless they're bottom feeders that sift through or hide in the gravel it's mostly cosmetic. Though, it can alternatively make up most of your biological filtration media... -
Got any rocks that might have shifted? Usually that's caused by scraping on something, I believe.

Did you seed it with media from another tank? And what are the reading son your water change water? One small goldfish in a tank that size I'd expect you're either getting nitrates from your water, or the nitrate reading is incorrect. 0-10 is easily within the margin of error based on light, water color, etc just effecting comparing to the color chart.

No they don't, my grandma had a goldfish in a fishbowl for 40 years and it only grew a little bit. Sometimes it would even shrink when it got a bit big! One year it changed color too! It must have been happy to do that.

Can I keep a great white in my 4 foot tank? The pet shop tells me fish only grow to the size of the tank so it should be ok.

More water changes, feed a bit less, less light, more light and more plants. Sounds like you're getting a perfectly normal amount of algae, I wouldn't stress over it.

Most chopping boards are made of High density polyethylene, or similar. Compressing them is a non issue. If your rocks can compress that enough to touch the glass...Well, it looks like it takes approximately 4000 PSI to even dent it, so maybe you need redesign your stand also to deal with a few tonnes of rocks.
