  1. What size tank did you have these in before you transferred them to the breeding tank.If i wanted to put in a pair of Oscars and a pair of jack dempsey's would a six foot do.It must be so exciting for you.I love watching the young ones grow.Oscars are so great as they do interact with you.
  2. Can you take a front on photo of her.It looks by that photo for the swelling to be under her.I have two females full of eggs, but the swelling is not under them.I think yours is the same it just the photo.
  3. My daughter has some gold guppys. Some of the males are turning out lovely yellow tails and some have red in there tails and on their bodys. To keep the yellow ones coming,.I know i have to get the reds out early. The question is wont the yellow strain get weaker if i keep doing this. And just breed golds.
  4. I was explaining the difference to my ten year old daughter as she has guppys.I told her the boy has a stick that goes from side to side when chasing girls. And the girls have triangle's i will have to tell her the proper name.I cant have her having a talk in class calling it a stick or triangle  But i think that would be better than penis or wotsit  gonopostium is the name people  :bounce:
  5. Will whats up?.penis, whatsot, private, add ons.Does this thing not have a fish name
  6. How exciting for you.I cant wait for up dates when they are wiggling.
  7. Will you live and learn.I always thought that was the early starting of white spot.My poor fish.
  8. Im want some babies.I had one when Mitzy was about five fantastic fish use to feed out of my hand.Lucky you
  9. I would say white spot you have the treatment in your tank now,and if your fish are not afected, leave it for three days.Do a normal water change, keep temps up.As for the eating feed out some shrimp or live food.I would not worry to much about that at this stage as they are still settling in.Fish will do this when put in a new tank.Dont forget when you do a water change leave your heater off for twenty min.
  10. No they dont go away that quick,it can take awhile if white spot. How did you get on with your heater?.Did you try what i suggested?.
  11. If your barbs are twitching after useing meds i would be doing a water change.
  12. What was the name of the white spot treatment?.Try turning your heater off for twenty minites, and then on again see if it reaches temp.I have done this before and it works. Some heaters you are meant to do this with.
  13. I would say they will.If you are going to breed your rams and leave them with the parents they would be better on their own.
  14. I might see if i can trade my extra males in.It was only a few weeks ago i traded my extra female in for a male. Then some body said do you want some freebies and i said yes please.Males are so much more trouble,Your right African
  15. Maybe you could try egg yolk, its meant to be full of protein. And since you are doing regular water changes theres no worry of pollution.
  16. Please dont laugh but i cant see the egg sack.I can just see them.I think i will have to get Mitzy to come and look  .
  17. I have three males and one female in a three foot tank, and they are fine. The odd scrape happens but nobody gets hurt.I have plants and heaps of hiding places and that makes a difference. Its not the best way to have them.Better off i think with the female out numbering the males.
  18. How long before i start feeding them.I can hardly see them,my eye sight is getting bad.Do i feed them inforsoria and micro worms to start off with.???. :bounce:
  19. Its sad to see.I take a bag when i take the children to the beach so they can put their rubbish in.But as a child i could run along the sand bare foot and all i worried about was getting cut by shells. Now when i take the grand kids i make them wear shoes. Now you find condoms beer tabs, and much worse.Poor animals dont stand a chance.
  20. Some of the eggs have hatched, now im excited.Im leaving them at the moment as i think they are still hatching. There is quite a lot of mouldy ones. Are these babies as hard to raise as the blue rams?. :bounce:
  21. Hi i have put them in an ice cream container.I feel bad as parents were doing a great job. They attacked my hand, and i dont blame them, poor things.I never intented to breed these fish at all.As im thinking of changing to bigger fish.Just cant make up my mind,so im just sitting back at the moment. Thanks for the help.
  22. Would they be okay in a breeding net, with a air stone?.I have not got the space at the moment. They were not meant to breed yet.So i have no set up ready.
  23. Bolivains could not wait, they spawned in my community tank last night.Good parents, keeping all the other fish away at the moment.Im not ready to breed them at the moment so i will see how it goes. How long till the eggs hatch,as i might still rescue them.
  24. I have two sharks, one rainbow and a albino. They get along fine, and sleep together.I have lots of hiding places, they dont harrase the other fish.I have had these since they were babies, they are now fully grown and so friendly.Maybe if you do put in a few caves and plants they might settle down.Good luck.
  25. I can give you some, how urgent is it.I just have to get my culture up and running again,as i been a little bit slack.pm me
