I have used the wonder tonic more than twice with out any bad affects.I dont know how good it is for fungus as i have not had it as yet.If your going to get the furan2 i would treat it in a smaller tank.

You can get it at the pet shop.How long have you been treating him. Medication takes time it does not work in one or two nights.Im saying this as a few people i have noticed expect it to make fungus and other things disappear over night.

You could do that,but if its internal its not going to fix it.As Spiderweb said if it dies and the other fish eat some of it,it could infect all your fish.Wonder tonic is good but can not fix every thing.I would take it out and put it in an ice cream container and float it in your tank.That way theres less chance of your other fish getting infected.

I would be worried about your other fish,maybe you could float it in a ice cream container in your tank.Sounds like fins are deteriorating.

Can you post a picture.Whats his tail like?.Do your other fish look okay.I don't like saying this as i know you can get attached to certain fish.But some times if treatment is to costly and its only one fish its best to dispose of that fish.

Thanks for that info i wasn't sure.I had heard it mentioned as a cheaper alternative rather than pay consultation and scrip charges.

There is some stuff you can get from some pet shops,its call furam2 ithink thats how you spell it.Im not sure how it works.I think its around about twenty four dollars for ten capsules.Im sure some one on here can inlighten us if it would be good for this.I have heard it mentioned on here as cheaper than going to the vet.

If it has a lump its through injury or internal bacteria.The fungus that is growing from it is a secondary infection.I would say it needs antibiotics.Wonder tonic is great but wont treat it if its internal.

Here's a easy way to do it.A container as suggested.A piece of bread.Wet one side with water,not soggy just wet.A pinch of yeast sprinkled on top.Put culture on it.Place on tank.In three days you should see them starting to move up sides.Some people put them in their boiler cupboards.They need a bit of heat to thrive.If to cold culture will not take off.When the bread is nearly gone place another wet piece of bread on top no yeast as there will be enough in there.Best to have a couple of cultures going at the same time.

I think thats a fair price.But if you have heaps and they will go down again soon and you want to clear tank space.I would sell cheaper to people that will buy more than one.

Im glad you like the rain.I use to,but we have had so much of it.I am sick of having to put my clothes in the dryer which is great for the power board who get my money.And sick of not being able to get things done out side,and having my daughter moan when i tell her she cant play on her tramp.Every thing looks wet and soggy.And im worried i might go mouldy like Caryl said :lol:

Will i found it a nightmare.Had my ten year old helping and she was great but it took longer.And catching the fish was a pain,once again with my daughters help.And thanks to mitzy for helping to clean out the new one.But now its done,it looks fantastic and im thrilled.But looks empty now.Will now i need to sort out what fish will be going and then restock.My old tank is going to be set up now for my Japanese fire bellied newts and cant wait for that to happen.

I will be changing my tank tonight.Kind of exciting as i can change things around.I kind of like the woody look with loads of plants.

Will ive tried every thing.I paid one hundred and twenty dollars for my pair then brought . another male thinking its him.If mine dont have eggs soon they will end up fish and chips.I know its not him.Hes got his cave sorted and hes a proven male.Cam as for taking the eggs away ours have to lay them first. :evil:

If i got them it would have to be just one pair as i would like them to have space.Are they aggressive to other fish.I have been admiring these fish for a while they are cute.

Mines will feed to and full of eggs.He sits by his cave and waits and waits.She goes over but wont go in.I am now starting to think its her thats the problem.

Join the club ive been waiting for mine to do it.I even got a new male.I have done cold water changes.Still no luck.Some dont do anything and they drop like rabbits.

I have heard of people suggesting on here you can remove them and just use an air stone.
