  1. No not in my community tank,in the breeding tank. They would not stand a chance in my community tank.
  2. Came home today and my dwarfs had spawned.Im thrilled,i only just got my female sent down from Auckland last week.
  3. Congratulation they are a pretty fish.I would feed micro worms, brine shrimp
  4. I breed dwarf gouramis.I have floating plants, bare tank bottom.Java moss on bottem.Temp 80,ph 6.8. sponge filter hardly moving surface.Put him in first, for a day, then add her.Do a water change that night.Watch him in case he gets nasty. Its good if you can feed them up on live food before you put them together.I put live food in breeding tank, till i see him building a nest.Get some inforsoria going so its ready when those babies are free swimming.Good luck

Mine wont breed.I dont want to lower the temp,as my other fish are happy.Do i need to place them in another tank to get them to breed.Others have theirs breed in there communety tanks. She is full of eggs and hes not interested.I thought they bred like rabbits.
  9. So would i be better off practicing with cheaper ones to start with.I want to cut some lids for a couple of tanks.
  10. Thanks caserole.Sorry for jumping your post, but i would like to learn to do it.And its no good starting with cheap cutters.
  11. Where do you get a good glass cutter from?.I would like to give it a go.Do they cost a lot of money?.
  12. Hi Donna same thing happened to me so dont feel to bad.I used tonic salt with mine,1 table spoon to twenty litres. It healed okay.
  13. You can cross the blue, neons, colbults, but not the honeys. They live in my comunity tank so no chance of breeding, till i put them in the breeding tank. The honeys are in with the guppys.I need more tanks
  14. Hi Olly your gouramis look great. But i agree with Dixon your blue female does look like a male, not just in colour but fin shape. And your right females are starting to have colour. Its not always the boys that are colourful.I have just had a pair of neons, colbult blue.females and blues dwarfs brought down from a breeder,I can now add these to my orange, honeys and colbult.Good luck with yours. And till me your secret as to how you got that baby gourami to grow so quick.
  15. Dont worry i just use my hot water tap top it back up,and they are fine.I use to be like you and use just cold, till my daughter told me she was useing hot tap.And i have not had a problem.

Mitzy you did,you need glases. Now one of them has paired up with the female keyhole. If it was a male, would the tube be longer,or shorter.I need to know so i can get it a partner.

    Bolivian rams

They both look like twins, same marking same fin shape. The white tube is small on both more like a pimple. You might have ripped me off Mitzy

No pic..They were meant to be male and female.Looks like what the female fighters have. But i have heard that males can have a white tube hanging down.
