Does the water get smelly with no filter.I would have thought even doing water changes crap would get between the gravel. Are they active, or do they just sit there. And what other types can you get in New Zealand. Thanks
Hi i was wondering what size tank would be ok for say four newts and would a glass lid be ok or would i need a mesh lid.I want the tank half water half land, and to plant the land with small type ferns. How deep does the water need to be and what type of filters would i need.

What colour oscars do you have?.I was nearly temped to do the same as you and put them with my other fish and im glad i didnt. They grow quite fast and produce a lot of waste. But they are lovely fish and will eat out of your hand.
Im not surprised they have a big mouth.Iwas nearly tempted to get one myself today. They wanted thirty dollars for a plain one.Im pleased i did not have the money on me.But i will be getting some.I have had them before and they are lovely.
I might try that Barrie. As im wondering if they are worth fiddling around with.I have a wooden box outside, which is thriving and one inside.I hardley touch them as i cant be bothered.I feed mine vege scrapes, breed, mash potato, porrage.
I have a problem.I have tons of white worm, but have problems getting them out to fed to my fish.I have tried putting glass on top of bread, picking them out.Sticking them in a net with dirt attached, but no luck. There must be an easier way.
You will be lucky to get some this time of the year.Your best bet would be tadpoles. What happened to the ones you had?.Its no good getting more of the poor things with out knowing why you are losing them. They are pretty hardy.Have your children been handling them as that will kill them.
Hi i hope he comes right.Did you give him some peas.I think that sight i gave you to check out,had some thing about bloat.Im going to check it out myself it looked good.I lost one of my fish a month ago through bloat. There are a few thing that can cause it to happen, and some fish are more inclined to get it.I hope its not.Good luck
Thanks for that. These are not mine but my ten year year olds.I have never really fancied guppys.but there are some beautiful strains out there, and have decided to take an interest in them.
If your worried you could ask the mods to move this to the anabantoids section. But my females have been like that for a few months now.Healthy as,like yours. My only concern is when i get a male for her, will he be able to wrap around her.
If the sides are fat and no scales are sicking out.I would not worry, shes ful of eggs.Mine looks like shes about to blow up.Are you going to breed with her?.She is pretty.
