We used to put it in a mix with resin and talc to make a thick bog, in GRP boat building. Can be used to pad out horse feed. Also gas fired imatation fire places use it to look like embers. Try BBQ Factory or retailer of fireplaces maybe?
I could look after a few for a short while . My 5 1/2 ft is looking a bit sparce. Already has Malawi's in it. Hope the surgery goes well. And you have a speedy recovery.
Due to a slight change of interest and a more serious cash shortfall I am thinking of moving on my fronnies , only to suitable home and prefer all 10 to go together $450
A lot of cichlids colour up and colour down, and sometimes change colour or develop then lose stripes depending on their moods or even water conditions. Colour is not always the best way of sexing them. Maybe thats why some of us find them so fascinating
Good to hear from you, Freshwest. Do you have photos of the new setup? What's in the big tank now? Glad to see your girls are thriving. (hope you have got a chance to shoot a few arrows with this weather!)
More Ice Blues will spread the aggro around, and lessen the effect they have on rest of the tankmates.I have 5 males one female(pity her!) they only show off to each other never actualy damage fins. Cool fish.
A pair of Pearl Gourami would go in there fine. Get several small ones , see if they pair off. Males develop vivid orange/red colour around throat and have longer and more angular fins. females are more plumper. Also good in a group if tall plant or bubble wall is used to break up tank into areas. Beautiful feature fish.
I have Giraffe cichlids (3) ,male colouring up nice about 11-12cm 2females somewhat smaller. Anyone want them for a $50 donation straight to Livingart?
