I'm too old for video games, I go to the local Indoor target club (Waitakere Smallbore) and shoot paper. Great fun, real guns, get to smell the smoke and hear the bang!!

Favourite game when we had Oscars and visitors would ask," is the water warm?" reply, "not really ...feel it" in go fingers....Bam!! LOL

Black Spotted Grouper look kinda like that. They are tropical marine and get big though LOL (you can catch them at the Three Kings Is. or rthe Kermadecs)

Finer than filter wool.Wont you be changing it every second day? Maybe look at a Diatom to polish water?

I did the same as Smidgey, Worked fine for me. Be wary of the magnetic glass cleaners, they scratch if you get even a tiny bit of grit caught up in them. LFS should have soft scrubber pads.

The further apart(vertically) the filter and tank are (called "head")the less flow you will have. Otherwise as above. Or even split the outlet in two.

If putting cichlids in there use both filters, tanks are fine. scratch easily though.

I had a about 3 months of no activity from the bricardi ,then wammo! three seperate spawnings one after the other , sometimes a big water change can spark them off, sometimes males of similar species can disrupt courtship. Spring is here....you never know..

We looked after acouple of oscars and a jag in a 4ft , the oscars were spawning and building a nest in the gravel at one side , the jag had the other. Continually spitting stones at one another..very funny to watch!(treat the jag to live feeders now and again...they are fast!!)

Take good Bino's, they help. we had 'Greg" the Takahe walk over a friends legs down on the sand, he also bathed in the sea amongst all the visiters off the small boats. Real crack up.(at Tiri)

6' is not too small for a Malawi set up. Masses of movement and colour and breeding. Real cool. Several of the Malawi species get quite big though, as do Fronts. GBAs will go with them as well, rainbow fish too.

Drop a shirt in front of the tank. If the fish watches you bend over to pick it up...its a male, if the fish gets excited and tries to pick it up and iron it...it's a girl...simple!

Forget the Sky tower(hold middle finger up against setting sun..looks the same!) go to Tiritiri Matangi Is. instead. IMO There used to be a Wildlife park at Ti Point, Leigh. Someone may know if it is still going, was very good value. Also just up the road a bit from there is Goat Island Marine Reserve , Takatu Pt has some beautiful Beaches and rocks....4 days isn't enough!! Book a summer at Coromandel......forget Auck. central!
