  1. I would like to think so but I can't see anything lol...and everything that I have read on the net says that both parents protect the eggs??
  2. My two RedHead cichlids, male and female, are really great together but for the past two days the male is being a real buggar to the female...he won't let her near 'their' cave, she hangs around outside it and he will nudge her away but then they will approach each other and it looks like they are kissing with their mouths...then he pushes her away again. I'm worried that he is going to get too nasty and hurt her...these are big fish. Any ideas on why he has turned her away?? Thanks.

  8. Hi Gabe My two are showing all the signs of spawning behaviour but as yet I haven't seen any eggs. Do they hide them or are they quite open about where they lay them?

  10. my Geo is a major bad ass and I can't keep any fish her size with her, I have a little geo and a young silver shark with her at the moment as they are the only 2 fish she left alone lol. Shes probably about 20cm and the little geo is half that as is the silver shark.

  12. Cool , so I can cook peas and chuck them in the tank and they'll eat them?? hopefully. I say peas first because we have heaps of home grown ones lol. Yeah I'm not too keen on red meat in tanks :-? , so I don't think I'll go there.
  13. Hi, what is meant by vegetable matter? Would that be cucumber, lettuce and such or have I got that totally wrong lol. I am finding it hard to get good info that doesn't conflict with what other internet sites are saying.

  17. Hmm, how would I go about getting a more scientific name for them?? I thought the name after the redheaded chiclid was scientific lol!
  18. Okay I'll try in here , has anyone kept these fish that can give me some good info about them. I have just brought a breeding pair and they are beautiful!! Not the best pic, I'll get better lol, but here are the lovely pair...these fish are huge and pretty, I'm amazed

  20. okay cool, I have never seen tank water go misty and smoky like this before so I'm a bit worried.
  21. yep its planted but not heavily..only 3 plants.
  22. Hi all Overnight my geophagus tank (2 fish), has gone very cloudy, like misty smoke. Its not a fully mature tank yet and the only thing different I have done was added 2 terracotta pot bottoms into it...which I washed. I done a 20% water change, still cloudy and all the water levels are fine. Any idea why this is happening?
