    Ooh they are pretty!
  6. Hey what I have found funny is this....I have them in with my BIG RedHead Cichlids....I thought because the redheads are a pair and so are the severums that they would keep to themselves. They have caves etc....so my big boy (redhead), he wasn't at all fussed about the new arrivals, my girl, she followed them around for awhile, nothing major. The night went on and they all fed together and seemed just fine (phew), so this afternoon I look into the tank and see male redhead in HIS cave with a severum, girl redhead is not allowed in and the other severum is enjoying lots of space in its own cave lol. Meanwhile the female redhead hangs around wondering what to do with herself lol. Since the new tank mates have moved in my redheads are doing a bit more lip locking than usual too.
  7. I think I might go with guppies as they are so easy to breed...I would like to do Danios too Has anyone got experience breeding danios?
  8. lol thanks. Yeah I know what you mean...don't tell hubby! Thanks for the advice and I totally agree with what you're saying
  9. This will probably happen with guppies if I go with them lol.
  10. My line of thinking...keep the fish small and do large numbers of them. I think fish that are too big could be a hassle.
  11. Yep I would be happy with that too
  12. . I just recently joined the FNZAS club and I like the look of the breeding scheme
  13. I'm thinking about guppies...and I love them myself. But was wondering if too many people may already have a good supply for the petshops...I'll have to find out.
  14. Hi, even shop credit would be good lol. This isn't the cheapest hobby to start huh I take it LFS means local fish shop?? If thats the case...we don't have one! We have 3 petshops available....that sell some fish. I've never heard of Kribs before, I'll have to go and look them up. I just recently joined the FNZAS club and I like the look of the breeding scheme
  15. I lost my baby Son to stillbirth 7mths ago and ever since my fish and tanks have become a major cool hobby for me. I am now thinking that I would like to put my time and effort (I have a lot of both), into maybe a particular species or two that I could breed and on sell to make some money. In saying this though...what species I wonder?? I want to start with fish that are reasonably easy to breed and that will be fish that people/a market wants. So any ideas on what species I should head toward? Has anyone else been able to breed fish and make enough money from selling them to put back into their hobby (this is my goal as I would love a nice big flash tank and all the gears ) I love tropical fish and I have found them to be an amazing relief in my grief and I'm willing to put hard work into getting myself set up to breed....your help would be real nice too Thanks.
  16. Yep , I think I might just keep them by themselves.
  17. I have just purchased 2 Gold Severums....are there any fish I can safely keep with these guys? They are quite small at the moment.
  18. okay after he started doing it...late that night they all started it!! I freaked out thinking they were all going to die on me but I turned the light off and they sparked up...this morning all seems fine, they are all swimming etc. I really hope they are okay :-?
