  1. I think that, although they're a bit of a ripoff, you should have Pygmy Cories for the bottom. They're so cute!
  2. They didn't come with the moss I sent you because my fish haven't been spawning and the only thing in the moss were a few tiny snails.
  3. The Eheim Classic 2211 is a nano filter, and is seen a lot in ADA nano displays, sometimes on tanks as small as 13 liters! It is an external canister filter, and it has a media volume of 1 liter. You could just put a piece of sponge over the inlet to stop fish being sucked in. For fish I think you should get 10 Ember Tetras or 15 Mossie Rasboras, and a couple of pairs of Sparkling Gouramis, which grow to 3cm.
  4. Despite what some people say about the dwarfs being aggressive etc, I've found them to be peaceful and I think you should still get a pair of them. You don't need to make caves. Just get a whole lot of bogwood and grow Java Fern over it and that will be easier and it will look better.
  5. Wow that is cool I really like it
  6. Wow that looks really cool Sophia Those Killifish are so cute!
  7. I got a couple of stunning pics of the cock, but I took them on the 8 MegaPixel setting (the more pixels the better quality the photo), hoping to resize them, but they went a bit fuzzy so I'll take some more tomorrow
  8. And they're soooo cute! I've seen baby budgies before, and they are so ugly and look nowhere near as cute as baby Turks. I wonder what it is about the Turks that makes them so cute? I currently feed the parents on a 1:1 ratio of Top Flite Canary Mix and Finch Mix. I also feed them PCL Barnyard Layer Pellets, provided dry and soaked so they have a choice. I gave them softfood, which the canaries nibbled at, but the Turks didn't eat much and most of it went to waste so I don't give it to them. They get apples and oranges whenever possible and spinach leaves, all of which the absolutely love!
  9. Poor whales &c:ry That makes me so mad! :an!gry
  10. I found these in the nest box on the 19th when I went into the aviary to show a friend my birds, and I decided to check the nest box and see what was going on inside. I took this picture yesterday. So they're 3 days old. Currently there are four, plus another egg that will hopefully hatch. This is the second time that my Turquoisines have bred. The first time was an utter failure, with only one chick hatching and then dieing a couple of days later. I can't wait to see how this lot goes! :bounce: Joe
  11. Maybe that's because I've never used one
  12. I didn't say that. I just said that mine grows well like that, and I suppose all plants would do well if the are given some sort of nurients, wether it be in the water column or the substrate. But it isn't a root feeder.
  13. I grow mine in a terracotta pot with sphagnum peat moss, 2x JBL Root balls and a thin layer of sand over the top, and it goes mad! I've never had problems with the lower parts going black. It also shares the pot with some Cryptocoryne balansae.
  14. Maybe it is to do with the kelvin rating of the lights? Antwan's 2 MH bulbs are both 6,700K, and P44 uses 4x 54watt T5HO PowerGlo tubes, which are 18,000K. So the plant may grow better and have the distinctive smell under a higher kelvin light? Also the spread of light on Antwan's tank is less than that of P44's tank, because the tank is bigger and only has two MH, and P44's tank (200liters) is smaller but has all those PowerGlos, and has about 1watt of light per liter. The PowerGlos also run just about the whole length of the tank. Antwan, maybe you could try adding another halide between the other two?
  15. Break a leaf off and crush it, then smell the crushed leaf.
  16. Wow awesome tank I love those halides The green plant looks like Rotala macrandra 'Green'. In my opinion it looks nothing like Limnophila aromatica, which I have seen pics of in P44's tank. What is the reddish-orange plant in the far right corner?
  17. Unless you are prepared to save up for a chiller
  18. Those like fast current from what I know, so get an FX5 8) Or build a sump. I don't know much about trickle filters though.
  19. What is the stuff you made? How good is it? Could you give us the recipe please and state where you got the ingredients from? :bounce: Thanks in advance
